It was the last song on disc 2 of the re-issue of Band On The Run from 2010 as part of the Paul McCartney Archive Collection.

It's also an extra (song 14) on the remastered version of Venus And Mars from 1987.

I had no idea that is was the theme song for a TV series. Perhaps if the series had been more successful it would be common knowledge.
Thanks for the added information and now I have seen in your picture another related fact....Zoo Gang was recorded by.....Alan Parsons. Looking forward to his Atmos remix :ROFLMAO:

THE ZOO GANG

There is a relatively new TV channel here in the UK called Rewind TV mainly showing old programmes from the 60s, 70s and 80s some of which I remember fondly and for some of which I have no recollection. The other day I caught the last few minutes of this programme, The Zoo Gang a sort of crime drama, and was fascinated by the cast including Sir John Mills and Peter Cushing among others. But the biggest surprise was when the end credits were rolling to what sounded like typical 70s TV theme music and the credit stated "by Paul and Linda McCartney". What?? It finished very shortly after that so I had no time to "tune in".

Anyway, I did some digging and discovered that Paul M released it in the UK in 1974 as the B-side to "Band On The Run". I need to find out if there is another episode of this short lived series - only 6 episodes were made - to hear the whole piece at the start and end of the programme. I found some good background to the creation and release of this piece including a deliberate clone here:

and I now see that the series is available on blu-ray and I guess that it would be a pretty random search to find that if you didn't already know!

Is it just me that knew nothing about this??

I heartily recommend this compilation Blu-ray. Contains individual episodes from all the classic ITC shows, inc one of Zoo Gang. Great picture quality. E.g. from HMV. https://hmv.com/store/film-tv/blu-ray/itc-retro-action!

Note that Network went out of business a few years ago so you might not get it new but it's not too expensive used. Note also that the three blu-rays were released individually so you might find the one with Zoo Gang a bit cheaper, but the three disc set probably won't be much more (£20?) and if you like Randall and Hopkirk, The Prisoner, etc you'll probably enjoy it all.

More info on content here: https://www.randallandhopkirk.culttv.uk/home_media_baron_blu.htm

One of the episodes on the disc contains the original "white Jag over a cliff" scene that they recycled in many other shows. If you've watched much UK cult TV from the late 60s/ early 70s, you'll recognise it. https://randallandhopkirk.culttv.uk/features_white_jag.htm

Talking of the unknown, I didn't know until I bought this that Shirley Maclaine made a UK TV series in the early 70s, a bit like using Tony Curtis in The Persauders (now there's a theme tune!). They clearly were trying for the US market (and probably failing).

Another sinkhole above an old mineral mine has opened up on I-80 in northern NJ, resulting in closure of the eastbound lanes and huge delays. We get a lot of sinkholes in Florida, due to the karst formations.
When I worked at a Coca Cola water bottling plant, the company actually bought up properties in the general vicinity of the water source (Ginnie Springs) that had sinkholes, fenced them off to keep people from dumping trash and potentially contaminating the water.
We didn't pump water directly from the springs, but in connecting caverns that flowed into the springs. I had to go to the wells every day and take water samples, take them back to the lab and test.

They're appearing more often over on this side of the pond as well.

Mind you they did build over an old sand quarry and they say there are caves as well!

Yikes!
Glad my orbit is usually south of Route 80! 😱

Where I grew up we played in an old shallow quarry that had a spring in it feeding a pond that had frogspawn every spring. In the mid 1980s an estate of posh 4 bedroom detached houses was built in the quarry. I haven't been and looked myself but I'm told the one built over the spring had to be demolished.
