Sly & the Family Stone Greatest Hits - 4.0 Audio Fidelity Multichannel SACD (October 2015)

Today we have the announcement that Sly and the Family Stone Greatest Hits will be available in Multichannel SACD from Audio Fidelity.
Scheduled release date is October 16, 2015.

This release will feature the Original 4 Channel Mix from Epic Records transferred from the Analog Master Tapes by Gus Skinas at the Super Audio Center in Longmont, Colorado.
It will also feature the mono mixes of the album mastered by Steve Hoffman.

MONO HIT MIXES???? Does this mean not 100% Quad, or are these extras on the CD layer???

The CD and Stereo SACD layers will contain the mono mixes, while the Surround SACD layer will have the Quad mixes, so yes, it will be 100% Quad, no PLII required.

Those mixes were pretty hot (and sometimes different) stuff, well worth having in one place. And with the quad on the same disc? Incredible...

It's mono and quad. So the mono mixes aren't an addition, they are an instead of.

I believe that all single mono mixes have appeared on various CDs except for one, not a scattered few, if the word on that other forum is to believed.

Actually Audio Fidelity hasn't changed the arrival date on Sly & The Family Stone Greatest Hits on Multichannel SACD.
As always, it will depend on when the discs are completed and shipped to AF by Sony in Austria.
