Nice... I know I've got that LP from way back when, stashed somewhere
I'm sure that 'stashed" LP along with your regular 'stash' will sound oh so Tangeriny on your new Surround Master, v.2!

I'm sure the new Steve Wilson version will suffice
I mentioned this before....but this is what turned me on to TD....I do really dig this...
My first exposure to Tangerine Dream was also through a soundtrack, Risky Business. I really loved the piece below. Unfortunately the soundtrack was never released in the U.S., I had a tough time tracking a copy down. Whenever I asked a record store for the Risky Business soundtrack, they just told me to just buy the Bob Seger record! Eventually I stumbled across a copy in a store that specialized in movie soundtracks. Would love to hear a Steven Wilson surround mix of this tune!
I'm wondering what amazon US is going to do on this title....they have the "place holder" and all it needs is a price...is this going to be another bold move like the infamous "Walmart caper"...where they swooped in at the last minute and underpriced BIG W....not sure why they are waiting...are they going to let the UK "office" take the gold medal...OR are they going to "snipe" them at the last moment
I just placed a 'tentative' pre~order with AmazonUK but did NOT press BUY. With VAT removed, and s/h to the states, the price is $135. Even ImportCD which is usually cheaper has it for $143 + extra s/h charges + local sales tax.
What AmazonUS does is anyone's guess but I don't think it will be cheaper than the UK, especially with sales tax added!
If you didn't press buy...you have no order...going thru the checkout process without completion is not an order...why don't you just order it...you can cancel it easily if something better is available..
No way that doesn't come down before release date.

Clint E., I just ordered from Amazon UK, I think you may be on to something about US rippers buying and returning. I have certainly thought about that but have never done it. This is fringe music for me and would never pay the Amazon US price but I didn't get the Kraftwerk box set and now it is out of reach. But is it going to come down $100...because that is the area where amazon uk is priced....maybe this is a sign...perhaps they are getting tired of people returning these box sets and claiming they are defective after the music is "ripped" by many...amazon doesn't need the music business to survive.. and if they notice the return rate is higher than normal...they might decide to just order fewer numbers or not at all in the future...I've noticed an uptick in the warehouse specials for these box sets...if you live in the US and order from amazon UK it's not so easy to return one of these box sets...certainly not as easy as amazon US...
Hey- Free Shipping- I said this was a No Brainer. Now I’ve gotta walk that back, old tired Mutts don’t like walking backwards. Still time for a little shake out, but I’m getting real tired of these Mega box sets with 90% destined for shelf rot, while pilfering my wallet!
I’ve never ordered from Amazon UK, do they tie into your Amazon US account in any way, or do you have to set up a whole new account?Clint E., I just ordered from Amazon UK, I think you may be on to something about US rippers buying and returning. I noticed on Amazon UK that Traffic has a vinyl preorder for more than Tangerine Dream and won't ship to US ? Traffic
My UK amazon.co.uk details are useable across all the amazon sites I've used so far so on .com, .ca, .fr, .de, .it, so give it a try, plus you won't pay VAT so 20% cheaperI’ve never ordered from Amazon UK, do they tie into your Amazon US account in any way, or do you have to set up a whole new account?

Same for me also, just different passwords if you want or even the same password if you want. Very easy. I am in Calif and my oderes arrive about a week after the East Coasters, just like when I order from CDJapan I get sooner. My UK amazon.co.uk details are useable across all the amazon sites I've used so far so on .com, .ca, .fr, .de, .it, so give it a try, plus you won't pay VAT so 20% cheaper
