Made it all the way through to the delivery options page with no warnings, but I'm not yet ready to pull the trigger, maybe in late June - it's in my basket- thanks for the help and hand holding.

And in the future, fair Prince..... STOP BEING SUCH A

I'd advise you to order it now...you won't be charged and it's easy to cancel....because a lot of people have been waiting on amazon US to see what the price is...now that they know the US price... the orders will increase on amazon UK...and might go up...and if it goes down you will get the price decrease on your existing order...nothing to lose by ordering now...

Good logic, thanks Clint.

BTW, if you do the math .......for 18 discs, including two BD~V/A discs, the price per disc is $7.50 [and that includes the elaborate packaging and hard bound book]. A GREAT deal, IMO!
That brings me to another discussion we'll be having in another thread I'm considering, but not here.

And to make the pot even sweeter.....what AmazonUK charged to ship this massive set from the UK to the US is roughly what CDJapan charges to ship a single SACD from Japan to the US via SAL [the slow boat delivery service]!

The shipping is very reasonable, I even get that back with rewards, so it costs nothing.

I don't get Amazon Rewards .... rather, I let my business pay for it and write it off!

BTW, at AmazonUS' current price for HADES including SALES TAX the price would be $256 delivered ..........RIP OFF?

The money I save on amazon UK can go to a worthy cause....Friday night I got this surprise..of course my dentist was closed...so tomorrow morning I have that to look forward to...

I didn't notice, I'll keep my order, worst that can happen is I get notice they won't ship. I am definitely not paying the Amazon US price, especially for Tangerine Dream, not even a top 300 band for me.

As usual, I'm in the dark on many of these bands. I suspect that I might be better trying out just one CD before ordering 16 of them even if I miss out on this set. Any suggestions on the cream of the crop from these 16 albums?

I’ve only got the Phaedra LP from back in the day; it’s very trippy electronic ambient music. Try Clint’s sample on post #58.

Steven Wilson has just posted some pictures of the box set on Instagram:

Thrilled to have been involved in mixing and remixing music for this incredible 18 disc box set of Tangerine Dream music recorded for Virgin Records in the seventies. Essential for anyone with an interest in electronic music, these recordings are canonical. As well as remastered versions of the 7 official albums they made for Virgin between 1973-79, it includes 3 CDs of previously unreleased studio music (one of which contains the amazing “lost” album from 1974 Oedipus Tyrannus), 3 live concerts across 6 CDs, and 2 blu rays with 5.1 surround sound mixes and visual content. Out next week on Universal.

I'm glad my Crimson-ing ended with the mid-seventies break-up. It means I can afford TD with a clear conscience.
