It sounds that way to me, so much so that I was concerned that the balance control on my Tate decoder was somehow miswired. The SQ version is so directionally-discrete that it is much more noticeable than most other matrix LPs that immerse you but don't have an obvious front soundfield.
The SQ lp does not have channels swapped re : front , rear.
Adjust your Tate, or recheck wiring I suggest humbly.
I've played that disc numerous times via my Sony SQA 2030 and Fosgate 101a and the album does not place Alvin's vocals in the rear such as the dts dvd.
