I made of scan of your post. I'm holding you to this promise, JohnN. 😍
How can you hold someone to a promise when you're both dead? o_O ;)
Promise? "Atmos Aqualung" sounds good said. DTS Neural X on the 5.1 works well as a substitute. The scan is the Jets jinx...lol

Isn't it grand to be playing to the stand, dead or alive.

I have to try Neural X. I usually go with Auro 3D on quad albums to give them a bit more of a sense of space; but I find that it can muddle things up on many of the modern 5.1 mixes. (This is using "Medium" with "Strength 10." Hmmmm, perhaps I should play with those settings?)

Nice? But when are we getting Aqualung in Atmos?

Maybe it's just me, but I absolutely do not need any Jethro Tull in Atmos - the only exception could be some of their electronic-tinged 80's output. Otherwise I can't imagine any benefit over the 5.1 mixes, which IMO are perfect and absolutely enough for Tull's music, whose "earthly" nature isn't really suited for Atmos in my view.

Of course YMMV.

I'm very curious about a Steven Wilson interpretation of Aqualung in Atmos. I'm not interested in the other albums...you are so very correct about perfect 5.1 mixes.

[P.S. But I won't pay stupid money for another Aqualung mega box]

I'm all for the Christmas album in surround. I'm just not sure we needed 5 disks of it. At least there isn't any vinyl included.
