Classical mode...Salvation Army rescues in NM condition...
A MERCURY LIVING PRESENCE original pressing on the legendary P17 lathe which has been rereleased on SACD and 180 gr LP...I heard that the original run for these was very limited...probably stopped after the 1st stampers were trashed...incredible sound in Moskba

then, Johannes with some young Anne-Sophie with Alexis, an early Digital EMI recording, sounds great on vinilo

and then some PIOTR, a great Columbia pressing in MINT condition , prolly never played, no spindle marks, no lines, no DUST!

and then, Johann Sebastian on a mighty sounding DG box set (worth about $70!) with "el güey" Szeryng (he became MEXICAN!)..it won the coveted "Gran Prix du Disque de Paris" (oo LA LA!!!)...OK, it's a 1971 REpressing of a 1968 recording but "..MEIN GOTT!!" sounds like he is next to you!!!!!! Side 4 sounds like it needed a new stamper but, hey...

more Salvation Army rescues in NM condition...
this one is interesting , it goes for about $43 in Discogs in this condition....
I know there were LPs pressed in red vinyl in the 50s and 60s but this is the earliest "Audiophile" pressing on -darker than usual- brown translucent vinyl I have seen, and to make it weirder it's a TELEFUNKEN label release from 1969 ... hell, we know them from the legendary mics but...RECORDS????

Interesting music...these all go to my Discogs store but if you tell me you are a QQer you will get a discount!

Might you give us a link to your discogs page?

Well, I couldn't own those other Gil Scott-Heron albums and have any self respect, if I didn't own this one too. And look at the list of session musicians:

Bernard Purdie
Ron Carter
Hubert Laws
David Spinozza
plus others

I discovered after buying it that it's a compilation of previously released tracks. So more LP's to hunt down.

Too bad Nike got ahold of that phrase for their marketing, the original lyrics hit hard. I just watched "Superfly" again not long ago, and it really transports you to the time & era. Probably released around the same time. Good soundtrack too.
