Is there going to be a game given all that flooding down there? Oh wait, the series moves to Edmonton…Let's try GO Florida for an Oilers win.
The Bills and the Lions have some unique history you may not be aware of. Ralph Wilson was the original owner of the Buffalo Bills. Detroit was his home town and he was friendly with the Ford family who owned the Lions. Most years there was a pre season game set up with the Lions vs Bills in one of the cities. Winner got bragging rights. The starters were sometimes left in to the 3rd quarter for those games. Each family wanted to win. Rumor is there were rich guy side bets going on. That pretty much stopped right after Ralph passed.Johnny !!!! You following PrideOfDetroit ? is there something in your closet or in your heart ? C-mon - fess up - youre a closeted Lions fan !!!
I knew it !! That Bills thing was just a distraction mechanism !!!!!!!!!
Glad to see you are now out
Doc...the KING of wordsmith and innuendoWell, it IS Pride Month…
Excuse to lose, Florida plane delayed by weather. Bumpy plane ride worse than playing the Oilers, easier than playing the Leafs. Is there going to be a game given all that flooding down there? Oh wait, the series moves to Edmonton…

Charley Pride deserves to be lionized. Okay, I’ll stop…for now, anyway.
You are correct, sir.Charley Pride deserves to be lionized. Okay, I’ll stop…for now, anyway.
Okay Ricky, and how many teams have come back from 3-0 in the NBA Finals? Inquiring minds want to know.Only four teams have ever come back from down 3-0 in an NHL series, the most recent being the 2013-14 Los Angeles Kings. It has happened only once in the Stanley Cup Final, when the Toronto Maple Leafs stunned the Detroit Wings in 1942.
That sounds something that would happen to a team from Detroit. Sorry Ricky, low hanging fruit.Only four teams have ever come back from down 3-0 in an NHL series, the most recent being the 2013-14 Los Angeles Kings. Charley Pride played for the Memphis Red Sox in the Negro Leagues and the Boise Yankees in the minor leagues. He could have been:Charley Pride deserves to be lionized. Okay, I’ll stop…for now, anyway.
Sorry about that, Chief. The east is the beast, Go Panthers! My wish is for a game seven...It has happened only once in the Stanley Cup Final, when the Toronto Maple Leafs stunned the Detroit Wings in 1942.
I threw that one out to get a smile on sir @JohnN face. Afterall he is now my Lions bro. The start of a lovely Lions bromanceThat sounds something that would happen to a team from Detroit. Sorry Ricky, low hanging fruit.
agree AR. If The Oil had taken Game One ( at Florida ) this would be a totally different series. As much as Id like to see a repeat of the 1942 fiasco, it aint gonna happen. I'll still watch it tonite on TV though. The Oilers must have watched too many Rangers / Panthers highlights and came up with a plan to do even worse. The Oilers really needed to win that first game where they very much outplayed the Panthers, but Bobrovsky was like a concrete wall in front of the Panthers net.
On this day in 1994, the Rangers won the Stanley Cup. The formula then was a core of home grown talent and the great Mark Messier, plus the purchase of a handful of Edmonton Oilers.
Let me say one thing about the Ravens, more specifically about Lamar Jackson. I don't see this guy winning a Super Bowl. The Ravens have had a great roster and will again this year. If they do win a Super Bowl it won't be because of him. Last year the table was set for him to shine. Game at home, great roster, great results in the regular season, everything was going their way. The overall talent for the Chiefs were inferior to the Ravens....EXCEPT for one position. Yes the QB position. Lamar had great statistics, enough to win the MVP....BUT...and this is a big BUT....the playoffs are what they play for and that Kansas City QB is light years better than Lemar when it counts the most....IMO the most important trait a QB can have isn't having a strong arm or the ability to run like a halfback...it is DECISION MAKING...next is leadership....Lemar failed miserably in both of those categories in the AFC Championship game....he is heading into his 7th year in the NFL....and yet he imploded in the biggest game of the season....he threw an INT into triple coverage during a drive...but worse than that...he goes to the sideline and throws his helmet on the ground....there was still plenty of time left in the game to come back....over 6 minutes left...only 10 down...but if you are a teammate and you see your supposed leader having a meltdown...it doesn't instill confidence that you can come backBest 2024 offseason move by every AFC team: Ravens, Texans win in free agency; Chiefs fix position of weakness
Both Buffalo and Baltimore remain as contenders to Kansas City's throne. Cincy could return to that level with better health in 2024, and the Houston Texans could definitely rise to true contender status after their "all in" offseason. The 2024 AFC race should be another neck-and-neck battle to the finish line.
