Nobody’s happier about the win than Malachi Corley.
Is he still on the team?

Historically, the Texans have had problems with the Jets; and the Jets have won the last three meetings. If the Jets could play the Texans every week, the Jets would probably win the Stanley Cup.

[Edit: I hear that Tyrique Stevenson and Malachi Corley are conducting a joint summer football camp.]

I've got some good news for you...but it might come with some bad news...I think the Jets might beat the Houston Texans...I've been following the Texans and the injuries to key players keep mounting...this week it was another WR ..Stefan Diggs....but even more important was Jarrett Patterson...an Offensive lineman...the Offensive Line is bad...really bad...they can barely keep Stroud upright...they have had to shuffle players..like a deck of cards...and if the Jets choose to blitz...if could end up like what the Vikings did to Houston..

No
w the bad news...if the Jets could pull this upset...the madness will start again...how the Jets could defy all odds and ride this win to Super Bowl glory...the illusion will re-surface...the nightmare might continue...talk about the pain and suffering to those fans of the Jets...it just isn't fair..

Just for the record....many of the talking heads on sports shows say the Rodgers trade was the worst in NFL history...they are wrong...the Browns have that distinction with Watson...

AR my friend...you deserve better....
Well AR....are you going to take the bait? 8 games left...Rodgers thinks they can win out...according to the talking heads... here is the breakdown...
Home games-COLTS SEAHAWKS RAMS DOLPHINS Away games CARDINALS DOLPHINS JAGUARS BILLS

By the time they play the Colts Joe Flacco will be 94...in fact that is his birthday....of those 8 games you will need to win at least 6..that would bring you to 9 wins.. for a possible wild card spot...now if they beat division rival buffalo that would increase their chances

If they can go on the road and beat the Cardinals in their next game...they will have some momentum for the next 2 home games...first up will be the aforementioned senior citizen Mr. Flacco and the Colts...the gunslinger Geno(not to be confused with the soybean king "Gene") and the Seahawks will be next...after those 2 home games...they travel to warm weather Miami...by this time Rodgers has come out of the darkness...the warm weather will heal some of his aches and pain..next road game will be the Jaguars...by this time the coach will probably be fired...the team is terrible and they can't get rid of the QB....they just gave him a new contract worth 55 Mil a year....mostly guaranteed....so they have to fire someone...that's how it works in the NFL...at the beginning of the season the owner thought he had his best team...loaded with talent...

At this point there are only 3 games left....they return home to play the Rams...then the toughest game left...a road trip to balmy Buffalo...Dec 29th in Buffalo...no sun screen required...after that the Miami Dolphins travel to New York...Jan 5th...not where the Dolphins want to be....to understand the effect that cold weather has on the Dolphins....think Seinfeld....the episode where George has "shrinkage"

Well AR there it is...could it happen...sure it could...but do you think it will? I didn't see the game...only some highlights .but it looks like Rodgers has finally discovered that Garrett Wilson is on the team..,now that his 'buddy" Lazard is injured...If he would have realized this earlier the Jets could have won more games.

It would be quite a comeback if the Jets played thier way into contention. But they still aren't scoring enough points.

Huh? But the Jets are 9-1 and atop the division. Right @JohnN ?

So Clint, are you arguing in favor of the possibility that the Jets could play in the Wild Card game, only to lose badly to a superior team (x = any team)?

The talking heads make me laugh... on one hand they realize Stroud has a poor offensive line...1 decent WR and they are critical of his passing percentage...they say he is holding the ball too long and he should be getting rid of the ball sooner...but who is he going to throw to...this is going to result in INT's if he forces the ball to people that aren't open...now if you look at the best QB in football...he is having an awful year...statistic wise... but his team is undefeated....the talking heads only look at the stats when a team is losing..

These injuries and the poor offensive play couldn't come at a worse time...in the final 8 games they have the Lions...Chiefs...and Ravens...they won't beat those teams and they have little margin of error outside of those game..they cant afford to lose any games in their division..and Nico Collins won't be back in the next game against the Lions...and Stroud will probably be on IR after the Lions game...I shudder to think how bad that game will be..if the Jets can sack him 8 times...the Lions will feast on him..

I'm just testing AR...I have no dog in this fight...will he buy into this possibility? But since you asked...if they get past the Cardinals..and win the next 2 home games...they are 6-6..with 5 games left...can they go 3-2 in the last 5 games...that makes 9 wins...

But the reality is that if they are a wild card team...that is as far as they will go...

Yes, even if the Jets miraculously manage to win out, they will fall in the Wild Card game. The emotional collapse after managing to pull something off like that will just be too much for them to go any further. Regardless, they would be hailed for a great season, expectations for next season would be high, and they would fall apart yet again.

However, there are several things that will prevent them from winning out this season:

1) Randomness: On any given Sunday...
2) Field goal kicker: Zuerlein is on IR (because he was playing lousy) and they are using two other untested guys right now
3) Injuries
4) Rookie head coach...who is now handling two jobs
5) 94 year-old Joe Flacco and Geno Smith will be out to get even
6) The Curse of Rex Ryan (If they need to win in week 18 to get into the playoffs, The Rex Hex will make sure they don't)
7) In the final analysis, they are The NY Jets

There is nothing that Aaron Rodgers, even turned back into peak form, can do to overcome these factors.

AR...I owe you an explanation about Notre Dame and the Yankees...why I don't like them

A lot of people...especially in the Midwest....don't like the Domers...for as long as I can remember..mainly because they have gotten preferential treatment for decades in sports...they were permitted to join one conference in basketball and still be independent...and with no conference...they still got consideration when they had good teams in football...the Big Ten tried for years to get them to join as they were playing some B10 teams anyway...but they wouldn't...and if they went to a bowl game...they didn't have to share the proceeds with anybody...part of the reason given for this treatment was because WAY BACK...ND was a big part of early college football history...but I suspect the real reason was that they had a big national following...they have no problem getting TV coverage...and again they don't have to share those proceeds either

The dislike for the Yankees is an easy one...when I did follow baseball...it was the Indians...and the Yankees always seem to stop the Indians attempt to get to the World Series...George Steinbrenner just outspent everyone...and the small market teams could rarely compete..

That's it. Hang in there. It's nice to see you being positive. 🤣🤣

Tell me more about the Rex Hex.

At the start of the season I mentioned the impact of injuries...it can't be overstated....then the impact of when they occur and who is injured...could you imagine where the Chiefs would be without their QB...they aren't dominant and without him....they probably wouldn't make the playoffs...and then when affects other teams...playing the Dolphins without their QB is a lot easier than when he is their starter...

Prior to marrying my wife, I absolutely DESPISED Notre Dame. However, my stepson graduated from there and was in the marching band, so the rules have changed. Going to Catholic school, it was Notre Dame this, and Notre Dame that...all the fucking time...except when it was Green Bay this and Lombardi that. I thought that the school was in South Bend, NJ.

I'm a Yankee fan, but I'm glad that they lost to Brooklyn because you, me and every other one on this thread who played Little League knows baseball fundamentals better than they do. Now I'm on a rant!!! Juan Marichal had 243 wins and 244 complete games. Nowadays, a complete game from a starting pitcher is considered 6 innings.
