To demonstrate how bad things have gotten for the Jets: I had thought that Antonio Brown was on the Jets roster when he walked off the field. He was actually on the Tampa Bay roster and walked out of MetLife when the Bucs were playing the Jets. 😵‍💫
Look at it this way. Nowhere to go but up. Its just a question of how long it will take. The Jets definately have some pieces worth keeping, So maybe not a complete rebuild. But the Rodgers "experiment" and everything connected with it should definately stop.

The Jets are in a league of their own.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has finished his 2024 regular season with 41 touchdown passes and only four interceptions. That’s a historic stat line.

Never before had a player topped 40 touchdowns while throwing less than five interceptions. But the stunning fact is that there were no direct interceptions, only the ball bouncing on players. That means that he has a 0 interception year.:bowing:

Don't tell @Bill B that! That could mean Lamar is due to throw a couple. You may have jinxed him. o_O

Let’s see what happens once the playoffs begin. He’s always good for a choke job as the stakes get higher.

Antonio Brown has 7 kids with 4 women. Tyreek Hill is also confirmed to have at least 7 kids(as many as 10?) with 4 women. 4 more kids apiece and they could change their names to Elon. Or Nick Cannon. Or maybe Tyreek has already topped Cannon’s production. Anyway, these guys don’t exactly leave it all on the field.

And to think, poor Ricky Williams got slammed for just wanting to smoke weed.

Cowboys reportedly deny Bears request to interview Mike McCarthy for head coaching job

As much as Jerry Jones rubs me the wrong way because of the Tom Landry firing, the guy was a college football player who understands the complexities of the game: Dallas is an impossible football market to coach or play in...America's Team and all that other BS; Jerry doesn't play musical chairs with coaches; McCarthy has had three 12 win seasons in his five year run with the Cowboys.

all about the money Markie ---Bezos paid a ton to pump his chest and wax his ego. And Goodell gladly accepted the monies
Roger Penske, the owner of IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, recently signed a deal with Fox to have every IndyCar race on broadcast television next year. He’s trying to grow the sport, with more availability for the fans. NBC had a lot of the races on USA, and one (Toronto) on the on-line only service Peacock.

The NFL seems to be the dominant sport in the US these days, and doesn’t seem to feel they have any need to fuel long-term growth. That’s one reason why I watch college ball instead.

Despite this 12 team CFP leading to a number of one-sided games, it does generate a lot of interest. Certain teams that would not have been considered as top four caliber in the old format now have a chance to do some damage...ASU almost pulled off the upset of Texas. It's great for the alumni and local fans of these teams like Boise State to have them in a meaningful game even if they lose...instead of some obscure game like The AR Surround Bowl.

The NCAA is trying something new with this playoff setup. That usually means they’re working to improve the product. Not all experiments succeed (Something I say about my own skills as an engineer is “The only thing I designed and built that worked right the first time was an extension cord.”), but are worth the effort. I suspect there will be some tweaks to the playoff seeding next year, but I’m unable to predict what they might be.

The NFL is not trying to improve their product, as far as I can tell.

There is a great TV series on now called Landman about the Texas oil industry with Billy Bob Thornton and a host of other stars, Paramount I think.
Jerry Jones plays himself talking to Billionaire oil man John Hamm in hospital from a heart attack. Jerry Jones has a long talk about business and family. Not sure if it was all true, but it was interesting.

Landman on Paramount+ is my next go-to program. How much we watch it depends on if Mrs Surround thinks the lead actor is hot.
