I see them in the deep South! Didn't know they had a Scottish connection. Given our temps, microbrews are not in their
element here, but that hasn't stopped a lot from springing up. My smallish hometown even has one, and it's decent!
They started in Scotland, https://brewdog.com/ & history https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BrewDog

I like the Dead Pony Club APA at 3.8% when I've drunk it (last time a couple of months back watching a Pink Floyd tribute playing in Exeter Cathedral - who had a bar selling it!!), but our PAs/IPAs are about half the strength of those brewed in the US!

Weaker?? Maybe now (IPA has a much shorter history in the US). In the 80s I was a foreign student in Edinburgh, and remember my very first time in a pub (The Greenmantle, which, to my surprise, was still there on my visit last April). I had two pints, stood up to go to the bog, and knocked my table as I was more affected by the alcohol than I thought.

Next table to me was a guy, TEN EMPTY PINT GLASSES ON HIS TABLE, who looked at me, and sarcastically
said in full Scottish brogue, "What are ye, an ALCOHOLIC?" :cautious:

A beer salute to our fellow QQ member and friend -- Boonie.
This beer is a DIPA., 9 percenter. Very citrusy ( makes sense, right ? ) 50 ABV.
Good beer - I'll go 7.5 on a 10 scale

Thanks Ricky. I appreciate your intentions. But realize I'm sort of adverse to anything "Florida Man", with all the baggage that entails. My family is 8 generations here in what has become a joke to the rest of the country.

Hoppin' Frog Rocky Mountain Barrel Aged Muileann Toir T.O.R.I.S.
It is a TORIS variant so nothing needs said.
If you like stouts and haven't tried Hoppin' Frog, well that is like listening to something one of the Steven's mixed in surround only in mono ... ;-)

Unfortunately, one of the best, if not the best, breweries here in SA is closing next Sunday. Had a few epic brews there today and got some crowlers to go .

WOOO-E! I don't think you can sell 11% beer here. In fact when I moved here 40+ years ago, all the County would allow was 3.2 near beer.
