Ex Novo is hyper-local to me. I keep meaning to visit, but—as is often the case with these things—have thus far failed to do so. I had no idea they were big enough to consider expansion.

The owner is originally from this area, and since it is now a bit of a "beer destination" he chose "home" as the place for his next brewery. I think it's going to do very well here - even though they're not open yet they've had some beers at a few local events and even done a couple collaboration brews with other locals.

There is an Ex Novo that just opened in Beaverton.
Do they brew there or is it just a taproom?

They opened here today - just in time for ABQ Beer Week, we’re there right now sharing a flight....

Went back today to fill a growler with the prickly pear, and while there had a glass of the Not Too Brite Hazy NEIPA

Busy over the last few days....Mrs D's birthday "weekend." The fellow from the home-brew club that gave us the small keg of real ale a while back gave us another - 2 gallons of an amber ale. We're a little short on kegerator space at the moment and Mrs D is brewing today so we need to cleat some stuff out. It's a tough job, but we'll get that amber ale all done with, been having a pint or two while chilling with some TV time, and we've got company coming later this afternoon - that ought to polish it off.

Todays brewing finished up a couple hours ago. Got the carboy in the fermentation chamber and I cleaned stuff up while Mrs D took the used grains over to her friends house for chicken feed. She got back just 20 minutes ago, we then pitched the yeast into the wort and will let it do its thing.

Company arrived for Sunday dinner too - time to clear out the fridge a bit and get everyone a refreshment. I took two cans of Steel Bender "Blackberry Dynamite" kettle sour and blended in one can of their "Tangerine Dynamite" - very nice!

I made it to the new Ex Novo in Beaverton. Decent for sure. I tend to like their sours more than anything else they make. Also, how the eff is that beer blue? That HAS to be artificial...

Indigo does occur naturally (also made synthetically of course as well) and the brewery's description did say they used indigo leaves.
