Perhaps I shouldn’t admit this publicly, but I really like Never Say Die. Then again I love the Gillan/Hughes/Martin eras of Sabbath more than the rest, so I’m probably the oddball Sabbath fan.

I just finished Martin Popoff’s book about Sabbath in the 80s and 90s and loved it... a deep dive (really deep) into every album and what was happening within the band. You don’t often get that good of an exploration of an artist’s less popular eras and albums. (Sabbath with Dio obviously did pretty well in the early 80s, but after that it was rough sledding.)
No effing way. Never Say Die is killer. I love it.

Melodic prog out of Philly. Kind of a lighter version of Beardfish. Very good.

New amp today!
Bought turntable Christmas but put it in spare bedroom using cheap £45 tiny amp. Now I'm regularly listening in there I decided to upgrade. I have a big Onkyo amp in loft but the room is small and I only want stereo in there.

So just bought an Onkyo CD Network Receiver off ebay. Just trialing it now. I mean it's not high spec but sounds ok with mem stick and DSD.

Vinyl next...

A new group to me but I thought I would give them a go (Prog Rock). Attracted by the album artwork and the shiny red vinyl (Aren't we all?).
Pattern-Seeking Animals - Friend of All Creatures.
I'm listening through headphones as I record it to MP3 and I'm very much liking what I'm hearing.

Does your turntable have recording capabilities built-in or are you grabbing the audio another way? When I bought my turntable last year, I considered one with recording functionality built-in. Opted to pass this time, but might consider it down the road.

And that album cover is very striking.

Mine has a USB output but I also had a cheap separate box. Not expensive and Audacity Software is free for capture.

Another hardly played album.

It's ok but not a classic. I saw them this tour and never bothered again until much later to see them when Schenker rejoined. And what a sad affair that was. They hated each other. Schenker sat at a tressle table in the interval selling and signing HIS SOLO ALBUM ONLY.
