Well I'm going to this tomorrow evening (not far away though) having missed last weekends Cropredy Festival due to trashing my hand, expecting rain, lots of rain on Friday! I'll probably spend most of the time by/in the Big Top, really want to see Johnny Mar & Ozric Tentacles though

I went to the show, with little respect for 38 Special, but I'm now convinced they are one of the greatest bands from that era. Seriously, they just blew me away. Sonics, top shelf, light show...amazing....individual players....unreal. Just unreal. I had a pit pass, so I was about 20 feet from the stage, center. No ****, they opened the show doing a cover of AC/DC Hells Bells. I'm like.....what the hell......and they ended the show with a cover of ZZ Top. Killer stuff.

Finally :dance

Just returned from Concord Pavilion (now called Toyota Pavilion), CA....a triple bill of Culture Club/Howard Jones/Berlin. Packed arena (about 13,000 people). Each act performed for about an hour and everyone sounded great, in particular Terri Nunn of Berlin. Boy George sounded as good as he was back in the 80s, looked healthy, and still amusing. Howard Jones' stripped down version of "No One Is to Blame" really hit the spot....and surprisingly, he probably had more hits than both Culture Club and Berlin.

There was great energy during the entire concert. While Culture Club was marketed as the headliner, I felt each act was equally good on their own. The 80s really put out some great music.

If you can see any of the three artists, please do. Highly recommended.

The heavens opened on Friday night, :( so abandoned listening to Jonny Marr & Suede, as just too wet - even with a waterproof poncho!

Highlight bands that I saw were, Lady Maisery - female folk trio, fantastic harmonies; Sarah Jarosz - just brilliant love her music; and the Ozric Tentacles - well over an hour and a half of psychedelic fun

That is quite the lineup! 😯
Sorry about the weather ☹️
Winning band name has to be “An Evening Without Kate Bush” 😝

One of my friends who is a Kate Bush fanatic (his wife doesn't understand his obsession! :ROFLMAO:) went and saw “An Evening Without Kate Bush” both nights at the festival said she was brilliant.

More comments about this show. For you all who live near or in a city....you may not understand about where I live. Central IL is farm country. Corn, soybeans and flat. Miles and miles. Lots of very small towns with 30 miles between them. My town is 3300 people. Closest "city" is 35 miles, and that's a small college town of Champaign/Urbana. 160,000 there.......we are not burbs. Miles of nothing but crops. Minimal houses.

It was finally confirmed that we had 6500 people go through the security gates for this show. That is just mind blowing. That's more people compared to popular music theaters in Bloomington, Champaign, burbs of Chicago.

All sponsored by our local hospital. Lots of food vendors, beer vendors...etc. Big presentation. I'm proud...

love the situation Gene. And you farmers sure can cut a rug. Had similar --- Sylvester Michigan. Huge potato farming area. 156 people live there. We hosted Santana, The Cars, 38 Special. ZZ Top, Loverboy, Ratt, Zebra, Wang Chung.........dirt roads. parking in the farm fields. Damn --so cool

addendum - no beer tent. but - 'maybe' there was some weed

LOL! And now the downside of this concert. I'm going to say I recognized about 20% of the people. 80% attended from other regions. The fact that it was free admission (unless you're like me and you purchase a pit pass to get at the stage)........lots of toothless, wonders floating around. When the show was over, and as the crowd diminished...I was stunned at the volume of trash dumped on the main street. Who does this? Not locals. We have more pride and try to find the waste baskets. When I drove to work at 6am the next morning.....the city had cleaned everything up 100%

my business is in "Salad Bowl City USA". As I type this week is fair week. 4H, midway, grandstand shows. My biz has a big parking lot next to the fairgrounds. We welcome people to park there ( for free ) . And every day we pick up trash. That pisses me off.

and you kids ? get the F off my lawn dammit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
