I was thinking of going to Pontardawe on Sunday, it's only 12 miles from me so I should really go. I went to see them at Aberdare last November.
I used to see them regularly, but haven't for years now. I enjoyed them more live when Martin Turner was still in the band.
They are still good, not quite the same, but Andy Powell is the only original member, and he is USA based now I recall.

The original line-up was great to see live. I believe Martin Turner is no longer allowed to use the Wishbone Ash name even as Martin Turner's W******e A**, but he did remix Argus in 2001-2 so the multi's for that do exist or did exist.

Saw Wishbone Ash last night in Exeter with my brother and some friends. They were absolutely brilliant the best I've ever seen of the non-original line-ups (Mark Abrahams the 2nd guitarist was incredible), the band were grinning all the time as they were enjoying it as well. The Phoenix Arts Centre where they played was absolutely packed it must have been over capacity (450 max.) as you only had about a square foot to stand in (saw Hawkwind there once and it was even more rammed!), and steaming hot, somebody had to be carried out! Well worth going to see.

Mixed scoreboard - have missed some shows for various reasons. Happening again as I'm going with my son to see the eclipse from Ely Nevada. So my 2 tickets right up front (elbow on stage) for Suzanne Vega OCT 14th @ City Winery in Nashville will now need new hands.

Still on the docket for this month:

Oct 09 Pat Metheny
Oct 21 Patton Oswald (with my other son)
Oct 29 Steve Hackett (with my wife)

An old house mate friend in San Diego brought this to my attention, recently as thinking about attending. I haven't sorted it out yet! It's about 3 hours away from me. Who do you want to see?
The only names I don't know are Davóne Tines and Yasmin Williams. I'd go hear any of the others individually if I had a chance (in fact, I'm hearing Molly Tuttle next week!), although I'd be most excited about Amidon, Anderson, Argue, and Mehldau.

Went to see the Boise Phil last night. They had a new commissioned piece to open the season, a fanfare by Jim Cockey, and it was very inspiring. Tchaikovsky’s piano concerto #1 (has anyone heard #2?) by Weiyin Chen on the keys, orchestra a bit too loud for the piano, at least in the balcony, but otherwise an old favorite. Got an autographed CD, too! They finished it up with “Pictures at an Exhibition,” also a familiar piece, which was done very well.

A great evening!

Not upcoming but I just got clearance to post this today;

By kind permission of the bandleader (Adam Holzman), here is Brave New World playing their version of Steven Wilson's Abandoner. This was a pre-tour (Europe) intimate warmup gig I attended in 2019 at NuBlu151 in NYC. My view was from the upper deck behind the band. Adam's Truth Decay robot visible in the center!
