A band I really want to see, but so far haven't been able to. They're either playing to far away or on an unsuitable date. Was looking good to see them then Brexit made things difficult for bands , then Covid struck :(

I’ve wrestled a bit with concert going. We have some casinos nearby where classic rock bands come to play.

I’ve got a front row ticket for Night Ranger before the year is out. Saw them in 2019 and they put on a great show.

But the audience for a casino gig around here is... annoying. Most of it is because of the folks who feel the need to get up constantly during a show and walk around.

I somewhat humorously (although probably accurately) attribute this to the age of the bladders in attendance being in direct conflict with the need to have multiple adult beverages during the show.

Frankly, if I hadn’t found a front row ticket, I might have passed. I have some favorite spots further back where the sound and the view is just right... if people stay in their seats and stop wandering around. But that doesn’t happen. So I end up pissed off at people. Hopefully in the front row I avoid that. (My hearing, however, will likely pay a price.)

We’re also a lazy bunch of concert goers around here. I saw Great White and Quiet Riot recently. Efforts by the bands to get everyone clapping and on their feet (other than to wander off to the bathroom/bar) was a miserable failure. I felt bad for the bands. The two people in front of me did manage to raise their hands multiple times to film the shows, though.

Trying not to be bitter and think everyone should enjoy a show the same way I do, but it’s difficult.

Waiting for the Peter Gabriel show to begin at the Chase Center in San Francisco the other night. (My phone's camera is crap, so I couldn't get any good shots during the show itself, whose visuals were spectacular. The countdown video involved this blurry jumpsuited worker erasing and re-drawing the clock's minute-hand every 60 seconds.)

What a surprise I was to find out today that Patricia Barber is coming to Spain. I have bought the ticket for their only concert here on November 12 in Madrid, in quartet format

Wilco playing Woody Guthrie's "California Stars" during their first encore last night at Keller Auditorium in downtown Portland, Oregon (with their "spiritual father," Scott McCaughey of the Minus Five, joining them on keyboards). Fabulous show--I think they're incapable of putting on a bad one--even if they were a little tired after three weeks of solid touring. Shara Nova of My Brightest Diamonds did a lively opening set and joined them for a little shredding later in the encore.

(Small photo, as my phone takes crap pictures, and it would look pretty awful, blown up.)

Patton Oswald last night with my elder son and Steve Hackett a week from tonight.
I'm looking back through concert phone clips and rendering these into postcards of shows.
This is Electric Light Orchestra putting on a hit-laden show in Nashville on July 3rd, 2019, hope you enjoy this brief clip. ;)

NOTE: This clip is listed as 'partially blocked' - apologies if it won't play for you.

Saw The Warning this past Wednesday play home. It was solid, intense, veery enjoyable.
These three teenage sisters are rocking the world. The age demographic was quite wide.
Since this was at home they had full production (lights, visuals and sound).

Off to see Rob Fetters in a few hours at a private house party.3h of Rob and dinner provided by his sisters. Should be a great time.
Nice! I am digging his new album, Mother.

He wrote so many great songs for The Raisins, The Bears and Psychodots. It's criminal that he is not better known.

Yeah I picked up the live dots he had on the merch table and some cds I had previously bought as downloads. I always like support via merch. I spent ~$90 gave Swany 100 and told her no change. She wouldn't have it and jammed a bunch of stickers and magnets in my bag.
It was a hoot talking to his 2 sisters that were there and hearing their side of growing up with Rob.
