Just got my tickets to see the best band in the world that nobody has heard of, Spocks Beard, touring the UK in March of next year, probably my last time i’ll ever see them as i’m retiring to the canary islands in April and no good rock band ever plays there 😢
Well, I'd say majority of QQ members have heard of them.

No...but he had a b&W slideshow of all the bug names he has worked in HOLLYWOOD...and i'm positive one of the photos was George Romero!!

THAT WAS A TOP NOTCH GIG....paid 50+ EUR...SRO....

You know when an artist gives it all (s)he's got???

THIS WAS THE REAL THINGGGG!!!

If he comes to a town NEAR you...go see him...that "Conjunto" was one of the TIGHTEST ones I've ever HEARD!!!!!

I REALLLYYYY hope he decides to release a disc from this tour!!!!

(gotta give kudos to a local artists that were guests on one of his songs... ..the first thing one of them told Rubén was that "He CAN'T <<<<LEAVE US HANGING!!!)

You know??? I saw Rubén Blades in 88 in Berklee and today's concert is a a WHOLE DIFFERENT GAME..

WHAT A CONCEERT!!!!!!!
He pulled ALL THE STOPS..bless 'im...

I was moving my bones with all the Titanium and all the rest ..and was having a LOT OF
FFUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

One of the best concerts of my life was a free show Rubén Blades gave at South Street Seaport in NYC in the late 80s. Absolutely, righteously, kicked ***--and showed all kinds of love for a huge crowd, every one of whom was just grinning with good feeling.

Dude won Album of the Year and "Person of the Year" at the Latin Grammys this week. Does anybody know where to hear him in surround besides those guest spots on that album by Bad Haggis on AIX? I would kill to hear any of his records from the last 40 years get a multi-channel remix. Why isn't his new stuff showing up in Atmos on Apple Music?!

Haven’t thought of Blades in ages TBH; but for some reason I’m thinking he was also in some kind of TV show or movie, sort of a quasi-comedic role, like the original Miami Vice or something. Need to check his filmography.

Been in a ton of stuff, I.e. Once Upon a Time in Mexico and The Milagro Beanfield War, but haven’t heard that Haggis DVD yet.

It's a nice disc, but he only guests on two tracks.

Good place to start is this documentary:

In his discography (maybe @kap'n krunch has some other ideas?):

Or his Grammy winnner!

his Fania releases with Willie Colón are the best and also the 2 others you posted, Buscando América and Antecedente...
Always lived his biting social commentary/criticisms...he is a brilliant scholar who graduated from Harvard and a doctorate in Berkley..
He started at Fania at the mail room!!
Let's not forget he composed "El cantante" which was Hector Lavoe's emblematic song...

On Tuesday night I went to see one of my favourite current Prog Rock groups Lifesigns, They where the last group I saw before Lockdown in March 2020 in Cardiff not too far from home and travelled 190 odd miles to see them this time in Milton Keynes. They are the first I've seen since then, they where excellent playing all the songs I wanted to hear including the magnificent Last One Home. I have 4 gigs booked for next year including Van Der Graaf Generator, Big Big Train ( I don't know if this will go ahead), Arena & Pendragon.

I went to my first post covid gig last night, Marillion at Hammersmith Odeon. They were brilliant as ever.

Coming up next year I have Big Big Train (although I think that one's extremely doubtful 😢), Van der graaf generator and Yes.
I think you got to go to a gig before another Covid mutation affects us all again...:(

I've got Genesis at the O2 in March '22 and like you, tickets for Big Big Train , September in Aylesbury, I agree, very surprised if they can, or want to do live gigs, without David.

I'm conciously cutting back my live shows. They are and always will be my first love but I need to be uber cautious now, for various reasons. :(

Last night, 1/16/21 I saw TOOL at Chase Center in SF. Always wanted to see them and was a fantastic show, felt that low end bass in my body the whole show, glad I wore earplugs. The had this veil, like cords hanging infront of them and the light show reflected off this veil, very cool. Guitar left, drums center and bass right, the singer was on two blocks to left and right of drums and could not see him most of the time. Definitely the art of this Tool concert was something I had not seen before. Best light and laser show I haver ever seen, even better than Pink Floyd videos I have seen. Crowd ages and race where all over the place but I would say average was a 35/white crowd. Good to see even older people than me there. I am more of a TOOL fan now, going to listen to them today, I have all there albums from HDTracks.

I see Kraftwerk 3-D is touring North America this summer.
Probably not up for a thousand mile round trip and night in a hotel to see them, getting too old.

Looks like mostly theaters, which would seem the best type of venue for it.
One stop at Red Rocks June 30 for an outdoor show, that should be a wild scene with the Denver EDM freaks.
