One I forgot about. Friday, November 8th: forward-thinking trombonist Ryan Keberle and his flagship band Catharsis. (We needed some, right about then.) A powerful quintet made up of A-list, New York-based, international musicians, playing original music that's a "potent blend of cinematic sweep and lush, ear-grabbing melodies” (LA Times). You can watch 'em on the NPR Tiny Desk Concert and buy their music on Bandcamp. Their new album has a very decent Atmos mix.

Took my 16 year old and her BF to see her first real rock concert. The "When We Were Young" festival in Las Vegas. Her favorite bands are My Chemical Romance and Pierce The Veil.

I haven't been to a big festival-type show in forever. Haven't missed them, but she had a great time. 55 bands across 6 stages, most of which I had never heard of before but I did enjoy a lot of the music.

Why she's such a fan of these ~20 year old bands? I have no idea. But I'm pretty sure that out of some 30,000 people there, I was the oldest person there and she the youngest. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I saw Dr John a few years ago. I was by far the youngest person at the show. We walked outside after, bustling area of Columbus and I was the oldest like <snap> ... it was a hoot.
