I wish SDE would cluster releases together, kind of like Rhino. I JUST ordered a couple of things from them and shipping to the US is quite expensive. I've passed on a number of SDE releases that I was warm to, but weren't "must have" and just hoped they'd still be available. All done in hopes of bundling to save on shipping. Yes, I missed out on a couple (but I'm not too upset.)Elton John - Diamonds just announced!

I think that this not going to work, first Rhino = record label and Paul depends from the diverse record labels when they bring material in Atmos new or old releases. Since Duran Duran's Dance Macabre deluxe came out under the flag of SDE records will not say that all titles comes out under his own label.I wish SDE would cluster releases together, kind of like Rhino. The one at a time is a killer for me.
That's how I operate, but it seems that lately, there has been no overlap at all.Paul replied in one of the QQ threads how he unfortunately does not have control of the release dates among other factors. As noted just above, he works with multiple labels, each with their release schedule. I am sure that is one reason why he just started his own label. However, at some point maybe he will consider a 15 day order window which could capture multiple releases. I recommend waiting until one of the last days of the 10 day order window to see if another announcement is made.
I hope for more recent titels as in 2023 and what this more exclusive titels may be
Yes, Paul is much more experienced now with all the ins and outs of dealing with the labels for this Atmos/5.1 series etc. etc....I see no reason why SDE couldn’t beat or, at the very least equal, last year’s number and quality of, releases. They’ve bettered every year before that.
That is true. However, Paul has been giving us single disc releases at reasonable prices as opposed to bloated big $$$ £££ €€€ box sets. So please keep both coming SDE.Every other label is doing classic rock releases so I've got no problem with SDE focusing on 80's Euro-pop. The Thompson Twins, Bronski Beat and Simple Minds titles are solid albums all the way through and the Atmos mixes for the first two have been stunners. I expect nothing less from Bob Clearmountain's treatment of Simple Minds. Keep up the great work Paul!
Amen. With the last 5 years of so IMO being the current "golden years" of surround music we have a lot to be thankful for. Smaller firms like SDE and IAA are bringing us so much awesome music without holding a gun to our heads to buy huge boxes full of stuff we're not interested in.That is true. And as for the extra stuff in those big box sets that we actually might be interested in…well, us old farts are running out of time to indulge in it.Smaller firms like SDE and IAA are bringing us so much awesome music without holding a gun to our heads to buy huge boxes full of stuff we're not interested in.
At this point, I won’t consider myself as an old fart. Only a slightly smelly one.And as for the extra stuff those big box sets that we actually might be interested in…well, us old farts are running out of time to indulge in it.
