Did you ever see the FUnky Monks video-sort of the making of the bloodsugarsexmagik album?
I already loved the album but when I saw that video and how all of this crazy, minor stuff went into making the album, I had an even greater appreciation for it. And it became a fun game listening to the album and seeing if I could hear specific things I saw recorded-from the video... like the sound of Frusciante spitting while brushing his teeth, or Flea's daughter pounding on a toy piano, both becoming part of the album.
And now that I've strayed from the topic, I'll rattle off 4 more:
Stones-Tattoo You
Faith No More-Album of the Year (or anything from them
Portishead
Morcheeba-Who Can You Trust
Something, ANYTHING by Bowie

1. Pink Floyd : Dark Side Of The Moon

2. Pink Floyd : The Final Cut

3. Megadeth : Countdown to Extinction

4. Depeche Mode : Violator

Just four? Really tough to pick just four, but:

1. New Order - Power, Corruption & Lies
2. The Clash - London Calling
3. The Beatles - The White Album
4. Depeche Mode - Black Celebration

There are soooo many more. Erasure, more New Order, Bee Gees, Pink Floyd, Jean-Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Peter Gabriel, more Depeche Mode...

Right now, I'd just be happy if the DVD-Audio camp could just get anything released. Looking forward to Steely Dan's new one, but man are they coming out slow.

My four:

Yes: Close to the Edge
Pink Floyd: Wish You Were Here
Beatles: Sgt Peppers
Roger Waters: Amused to Death

KW

Grateful Dead - "Anthem of the Sun/Aoxomoxoa" double DVD-A
Jethro Tull - "Benefit"
Cream - "Disraeli Gears"
Spirit - "The Family That Plays Together"

Pink Floyd - Whish You Were Here
Jethro Tull - Minstrel in the Gallery
APP - Turn of a Friendly Card
Vangelis - See You Later

/ Laszlo :D

Just some artists and albums (however any DVD-A of one of these artists would be great!):

- Joe Jackson - Body and Soul
- Roger Waters - Amused to Death
- The Who - Tommy
- Dire Straits - Love over Gold

1. They might be Giants - Flood
2. XTC - Apple Venus volume 1
3. Jethro Tull - j-tull dot com
4. the passage - enflame (I guess I'll have a long wait for this one. It only came out on CD two months ago - twenty years after its release!)

4 classic albums.
Derek and the Dominoes - Layla, because its just a great album
Pink Floyd - Atom Heart Mother, set up for potentially awardwinning MC mixing.
The Beatles - The Beatles, with Mono, Stereo and MC mixes on the same disc ??
Jimi Hendrix - Axis Bold as Love

new albums from Radiohead, XTC, and Red Hot Chillie Peppers ! simultanius releases ? Why are warner not doing this with New artist releases, its the only way that either format is going to take off.

1) SPACE OPERA by Space Opera (the Ft. Worth TX country/folk/rock/psych group, not the Euro new age group). The 1973 album (Epic KE 32117) still not on cd. Multi-tracked electric 12-strings and 3-part harmony vocals begging for 5.1.

2) THE CYCLE IS COMPLETE by Bruce Palmer, orig Buffalo Springfield bassist. Original album on Verve; 1st ever cd release this month on Collectors Choice

3) Your choice of BEHIND THE GARDENS or CAVERNA MAGICA or WHITE WINDS or DOWN TO THE MOON or DANCING WITH THE LION by Andreas Vollenweider

4) SKYLARKING by XTC

Forgot to add:

5) TONTO RIDES AGAIN by Tonto's Expanding Head Band. Classic 1971 synth record by Malcom Cecil and Robert Margouleff (if memory serves well, producer of the Millinium DTS decoder). cd on Viceroy Vintage VIN6036-2. BTW this is a great 2 to 4 synthesyze showcase for Sansui V-M, and would go great to 5.1.

1. Abbey Road - The rumor has me really wanting this disc in DVD-A. I hope it comes true.

2. Led Zeppelin IV - " Stairway" in hi-rez surround?? I'll need a cold shower after that!

3. Christopher Cross (1st Album) - The track he did on Alan Parsons "On Air" made me think how great this album would be in surround. The quality of this recording is incredible!

4. Steely Dan "Aja" - Supposedly there are missing tapes which would hurt the chances of this being released in DVD-A, but again, the quality of the recording is outstanding. (Please, please find those tapes!!!!!!)

...is it a matter of the Aja tapes being lost, or pooched? I thought it was the latter, that they had deteriorated so badly that they had essentially died...

The multitrack masters of two of the songs are lost. The other 5 (?) are OK. I say, release it as is, leave those two songs in stereo................
