For my recent birthday, I went to Amoeba Music in Hollywood, CA and found some gems for my CD-4 demodulator (my very first ever).
This album was on my hunt list for years: Carly Simon's No Secrets. After years of hearing The Right Thing To Do and You're So Vain in stereo, I was very curious to hear this in CD-4. Needless to say, I was NOT disappointed.

and Danny Davis and the Nashville Brass-Traveling for $.45 DSCN9887.jpgDSCN9888.jpgDSCN9889.jpg

And the Fisher Quadradisc CD-4/SQ-Matrix album (CD-4 on Side 1 and SQ on Side Two)

I am jealous of some of the ones you guys are getting.

The fuzz guitar being in the back right channel in "You're So Vain" and the lead solo moving around back there still knocks me out after all these years. Well, along with Carly, in general, of course. :D

Cold London streets cruel on certain "extremities" but heaven to those of us who close-to-worship certain female delicacies.

For a few years now I've been trying to collect a complete set of the Japanese Motown CD-4's, and I got a package in the mail this week from a friend in the UK that puts me nearly at my goal. I'm not sure if it's just coincidence or if it's because there are a lot of soul music/record collectors in the UK, but with a lot of persistence, patience, and googling I was able to get all the records I'm going to post pictures of following this message for under £20 each, including £12.50 for the Temptations 'In Japan' and Diana Ross 'At Caesar's Palace' for £2.99 from an eBay seller who hadn't put anything about it being quad in the description. I had all the records sent to a friend in London who then sent them over to me in one big bunch which saved me a ton in postage fees, which almost makes up for having to wait a year to get them!

But first, my Motown CD4 collection as of today:

I'm only short Rare Earth's 'Get Ready' and The Jackson 5 'In Japan' to complete my set. If anyone has them and wants to trade, I have a few spares as you can see from the picture above.
