there were UK SQ LPs of "Band On The Run" and "Venus & Mars"??? 🤯😱🤩
Yikes. I haven't heard of that either. It's conceivable that it could have been done, as Lennon's Imagine got both the discrete tape and matrix LP treatment and Band on the Run was also an Apple release. But I'm unaware of that actually having taken place with either McCartney/Wings albums.

The Mandingo albums, one of which I have, were released in Canada, but not the US. "Band" and "Venus" were released in SQ in the UK, but only on Q8 here. "Band"' sounds like real quad, but "Venus" sounds a bit odd.

No Paul McCartney albums were released on quad vinyl by EMI .

I have their pop/rock listing , and the only post BEATLE was John Lennon-Imagine released on SQ vinyl . EMI was a big backer of SQ vinyl but mostly Pink Floyd and the Harvest Label artists.( 8 all told.)
And of course after pop/rock dual inventory they went Single Inventory with primarily Classical.

EMI's 'Studio Two' had several SQ albums and the single inventory were on the 'Angel' and 'HMV' labels.

After the end of DBX discs in the 1980's, was there ever an attempt to revive the format?

With so many new music and reissue vinyl records being produced today, there could potentially be a market for DBX Discs. A stand-alone decoder could be made to add into a system just like originally. But, that being said, the market of people who might actually spring for modern DBX Discs and decoders would be niche.
Shortly after I started buying things on eBay (many years ago), I ended up purchasing a DBX decoder (DBX II,124) and a few DBX encoded LP's. The LP's were on the "Nautilus" label. Remember Nautilus, they competed with MFSL in the audiophile market? Anyway of the albums that I have I also have the regular Nautilus pressings as well. While I haven't played a DBX disc in a long while as I recall the biggest difference between them was the lack of groove noise between tracks. I recall that when they first came out people that were used to setting their volume control based on the groove noise at the start of the record were in for a big shock when the music started, blasting their speakers!

At some point I thought of recording the DBX album to digital/CD and then playing it through the DBX decoder. That was not a such great idea as it resulted in a disc compatible only with the DBX decoder. I also tried an experiment making a digital recording using the DBX encoder, reasoning that I could get an extra 40 dB of dynamic range on top of the already ridiculously high 120dB. Well what I didn't count on was the noise induced by the DBX encoder/decoder itself. Results were far worse with it in, the process tends to colour the sound as well. Anyway DBX for records came and went rather quickly, made obsolete by the development of the CD.

All those audiophile LP's being of very popular material have since been re-released in high resolution digital formats making the vinyl copies rather obsolete. I still love the album covers though, you just don't get that with any digital format. Today If I were to make a digital copy of the vinyl I would most likely use the normal (non DBX) pressing applying noise reduction in software if needed to avoid the noise and distortion of the DBX unit itself.

I can see you took extra care and time reading these BBQ

Here's another addition to my collection, and once again another duplicate (triplicate, actually). But, I bought this one for the extras that were still included with it. Have any of you ever seen this sampler come with the matching book on the left, or product line brochure on the right? I'm especially asking our sales lady extraordinaire, quadlinda, who's seen just about everything regarding quad. I'm thinking these were picked-up separately by the prior owner, but at the same time, because the book has dealership stamps on it. And check those stamps out: Tucson, AZ. I bough this at a Salvation Army in Portland, ME, how stuff travels around! Any Arizona members amongst us?

The googl translation came out kind of funny, it seems to describe a system where a mic mixing box is connected to the RM decoder so you can swap the vocalist with the mic input for karaoke in quad?:

"KI 1144 voice matrix DEMONSTRATION RECORD voice matrix What is a voice matrix? Sharp first released a stereo with a built-in microphone device in 1969. I walked through the play stereo, which can be said to be the product of the current Young. It's called this play stereo. Open has now taken the mic mixing device to the next level. So, what kind of device is this voice trick device? Speaking of one day, it is a completely new device that matrixes the sound of the instrument and reduces only the voice of the singer in the lower part. Mike: Oren A, instead of this little singer, you can feel like you're singing in her pack. In other words, the voice matrix is her hand-to-hand replacement. By the way, when playing the musical record of this voice trick device, only the music of the pack can be used. This is because when a song without a song is played back and the song itself is tuned to the rhythm, it was not possible to sing this song back. .. However, the Voice Matrix was developed with the point that if you sing a song that is actually sung by a singer, you can swing instead of your hand. .. Just one-touch, just judge the voice matrix switch. All you have to do now is control the microphone level appropriately. Of course, if you don't ash the Voice Matrix switch, it will be a duo with a singer as a general microphone mixing device. In addition to mixing this voice matrix circuit, you can create your own original music serve by mixing your favorite Touhou instruments, such as guitars and trumpets. As a singer and as a person ... It will be more fun instead of the traditional passive stereo check that you only think about, instead of the sexual stereo technique that you participate in. This is her Voice Matrix, Mike Trende. This record was created as a dedicated record for the Voice Matrix, but when you're looking forward to it as a regular record, it's recorded as a channel record, so the SIDE 1 of the Quad Selector's Irregular Matrix) Shiretoko Love Song Kazumi Yasui Written by Kazumi Yasui Written by Hira Koji Hayakawa Song"
