Did you get Sainsbury's vouchers for Christmas too, as well as Amazon?! I've noticed that Sainsbury's seems to be running down its stocks of cds and sacds. Hopefully they are not stopping altogether as their prices were often the best around.

I have Lizard already. Is the Moody Blues sacd worth getting (I already have the LP and cd of this)?

No, I didn't get any Sainsbury's vouchers but I do often check their site as they've had a few bargains over the years. Not much left now on the SACD/DVDA front though. Either they've sold the stock or moved it out to stores or other outlets.

Sainsbury's are ceasing to sell all physical product from their online store from March 1st.. http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/n...nt-to-scrap-selling-physical-products-online/

I'll let you know what I think of The Moody Blues disc when I get a chance to listen to it :)

That's not good news. I've bought loads of stuff from them in the last few years, as they have been cheaper and quicker to deliver new releases, including CTTE and Nonsuch recently, and also Gaucho and Honky Chateau SACDs at good prices. Soon we'll be left with just bloody Amazon.

I've ordered the Moody Blues sacd myself now from Sainsburys! One other thing I noticed there, which I have already, is the recent Mike Oldfield Five Miles Out cd/dvd including 5.1, for only £7.99.

Yeah, I got the Steely Dan and EJ discs from there too ;)

They did have Björk's Medulla DVD-A there a while back and I resisted because I have the Dualdisc as part of the 'Surrounded___' box set, but am regretting not buying that now. Most of what is left is the classical stuff and The Beatles 'Love' DVD-A. They've got some good deals on box sets, but nothing that took my fancy.

I thought the Linda Ronstadt album was disappointing sound wise. But the other WEA SACDs are quite good.

I regretted not picking up the Japan WEA Chicago SACD when I had the chance.

Just pre-ordered Dire Straits "Brothers in Arms" SHM-SACD (my 4th BIA SACD and 11th version of BIA!!) and Carpenters SHM-SACD. Between the upcoming SHM-SACD titles and the Living Stereo reissues, I am already heading to the poor house. Is there a tax deduction for purchasing SACDs?

Latest SACDs added:

Tchaikovsky: 1812/Gershwin: Rhapsody in Blue - Erich Kunzel/Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (original Telarc recording on Soundstream masters)
Fiona Joy Hawkins - 600 Years in a Moment (Co-produced by Will Ackerman of Windham Hill Records fame)

New people?!:

have this on dvd audio very good sound-the 1st cut is wild. I use it as a demo when new people want to hear 5.1

If I recall correctly, the Frampton SACD sounds much better with the center channel disabled. Is the DVD-A similar?

ah crap-can't remember-sold my copy a few yrs ago. All I remember is how put off I was. It seemed listening to "Do you feel" sounded better on the radio! Blasting it in the truck. MJ causes memory loss! Not that I use it!

no idea, I haven't played the DVD-A in years (and even then I probably wouldn't have fiddled with the centre channel, though I would be more likely to do that kinda thing now). I've not tried the SACD yet, I'll try giving it a whirl at some point tomorrow and then compare the two if poss. I don't remember the DVD-A being upto much but happy to be proven wrong (wouldn't be the 1st time, won't be the last!).

I wouldn't be too surprised to see Frampton Comes Alive show up on Blu-ray audio pretty soon.
