Placed order on Burning Shed...

Nosound - Lightdark

DVD-A

If you're not familiar....check out on youtube...song is called Cold Afterall. wow!!
nice buy, do you already have their other surround releases? A Sense of Loss as dvdv and Afterthoughts as dvda. ASOL might get a re-issue as dvda though. Giancarlo Erra is a member on QQ,(as Nosound) and he mentioned this in one of the topics. Enjoy Lightdark.

Just got ELP BSS from Japan today.Looks promising. Will have to wait to hear it though. Just too busy. ELP BBS.jpg

thanks my man. Yes, I have Afterthoughts. To be honest, forgot I had it. I played all the songs from Lightdark off of youtube and I really like it. I just can't get over some distinct similarities to Porcupine Tree and or Steven Wilson. In fact, I had to double check the history to make sure Steven wasn't lurking around in that band somehow.

Signal To Noise - Andy Jackson - I'm really looking forward to giving this one a spin.
Warchild - Jethro Tull - It looks another item of beauty, especially when placed next to Thick as a Brick and A Passion Play :D

I have been reading this thread with big interest so i think it about time that i also post something here:
Jeff Beck - Blow by blow ( the japanese SACD )
Yes - Relayer (CD + Bluray audio )
Jethro Tull - Warchild (CD + DVD/DVD-A? )
As for the Jethro Tull discs that are very nice i wonder if anybody can tell if it is really DVD-A or "just" DVD?
As i don´t see any warning about what kind of player that is required i guess it is DVD.
I don´t know if this means that it hasn´t as good audio as an DVD-A should have?

Dvd-audio is a lossless format - no signal compression. DVD is a lossy format - the signal is compressed. The lossless format is a better signal. The importance of this varies from listener to listener.

I feared that this would be the answer.
They are making an compromise to make it possible for more people to buy it.
I think it´s sad but apart from that the discs sound just fine so i´m happy with the discs anyway

84:35 (How'd they fit that onto the CD layer?) and 5.0 and 2.0 SACD

Impressive. But that would be 85 minutes of torture for me. My sister danced the entire time we were growing up. I saw the Nutcracker multiple times every November and December. Then factor in the fact that ratio-wise, we had it on the record player at home at least 15 times for each performance, and you have a recipe for me developing a lifetime aversion to what should be a very enjoyable piece of music. If you could hear my blood pressure going up in a post...

I swear to God if I ever hear that thing in its entirety again I WILL go postal.

;-)
