For the time being, I just picked up:

Steely Dan - everything must go
Faith hill - Cry
America - Homecoming

And a pleasant surprise in the mail... Andy Jackson - signal to noise

Cover looks intriguing, what sort of music is it Adam?

Sea shanties for stoners, in surround..?! :ugham:

An Octophonic orchestral orgazmatron on the open ocean..!! (Eight is a lot of legs!) :D

I've no idea!

it's just one of those less well-known discs that several QQ-ers have raved about over the years (Linda was first to mention it that I noticed in my time here).

I imagine it's new age/percussion type stuff since there's the Mickey Hart connection but I've honestly never checked the album out before.

I just saw CDJapan had it a good price when I was getting some SHM-SACD reissues and thought I'd go for it at last and hey presto here it is. Absolutely no idea when I'll get the time to listen to it (super stupid mega busy.. yawn!) :p

A triple play! How do you suppose that happened!? LOL!

A gave each a listening today. WOW!! All of them offer superb surround mixes. Yes, Homecoming is probably my favorite. It's so nice to hear them in surround. How I wish Audio Fidelity had included a 5.1 mix on their SACD. A Horse With No Name really needs to be listened to in surround.

Steely Dan give a solid performance of their mellow, mature style. Couldn't ask for more there... I mean this isn't the 70s anymore, right! Simple pleasures!

And Faith Hill... She might not be a Stevie Nicks, but I really enjoyed hearing a little Country-western/Pop. Don't get much of that in this neck of the woods.

Black Celebration - Depeche Mode (Hybrid MultiCh SACD + DTS DVD-V).

Well I think that completes my Depeche Mode SACD Collection  (I think? I'm counting 12 in all.. 10 x 2 disc digipaks w/SACD, 101 SACDs, Playing The Angel..) does that sound right?

The Nat King Cole Story (Hybrid MultiCh 2x SACD set).

That SACD title gets rave reviews....I'd like to know how the 3 channel sound works out for you Adam...couldn't find a song list for that one...I've been considering the new Blu Ray audio release by Nat...it has 22 tracks and most importantly for me it has "unforgettable"...which is a must have if I'm going to get a Nat Cole title..

Update...I found the complete songlist

I'd already heard these 3-channel versions before the actual SACDs turned up today ( ;) ;) ) so I can tell you categorically already they totally wipe the floor with the HFPA in every way.

I found a used/like new copy for an ok price (£40).. I was done waiting for a cheap copy to come along, so I went for it :D

They start about $60 here in the US unless you get lucky in an auction situation...but when there is a sale on and I can get 10% off and combine it with another purchase to get free shipping I might just get it here

It's fantastic. A must buy for fans of Nat King Cole. Acoustic Sounds spent a lot of time getting the Analog Master Tapes for the Nat King Cole Remastered series and lined up Kevin Gray, Steve Hoffman and Gus Skinas to work on the releases. It shows. The advantage to getting The Nat King Cole Story is you get all of his best known favorites and hits in one purchase. Big fans will likely pick up some of the individual albums as well. This is the essential one.

The 3 Channel Multichannel tracks add Nat King Cole's voice in the Center Channel. A real treat. But listening to the Stereo DSD tracks from the Stereo DSD Downloads on Super HiRez using a DAC like the new 5th Generation Lampizator DSD DAC (see http://positive-feedback.com/Issue76/lampizator_dac.htm) - Wow !

On the Blu-Ray, don't forget that the 2-Channel DSD Download edition of The Extraordinary Nat King Cole is also an option - it has been available for months now (http://store.acousticsounds.com/d/9...raordinary-DSD_Single_Rate_28MHz64fs_Download). A good collection of favorites and rarities by the singer. Not as warm and smooth as the Acoustic Sounds versions but also very enjoyable via an Oppo 103/105 or a DSD capable DAC.
