I finally broke down and purchased, Blood, Sweat & Tears - "Child Is Father To The Man". It is due with the mail tomorrow.
I have been musing over getting any of the Nat King Cole SACDs for a while, I grew up listening to music like this as my father was a big fan of his, which is why I've ended up buying the music of Dave Brubeck, Fats Waller, Stephan Grapelli, Oscar Peterson etc. (BTW saw Oscar Peterson at the Birmingham Symphony Hall (UK) with my father, an amazing gig). Looks like they're worth getting.
Definitely worth getting. It's fair to say you've never heard Nat King Cole sound this good before.
....BTW, I saw The Nat King Cole Story listed on eBay for like $150 Buy It Now.
WTF? More like Buy It Never.
You'd think that people who collect SACDs and are even remotely aware would realize this is a blatant, bend-over rip.
Agreed on the After Midnight.
I like Nat King Cole and the sacds are definitive but for me After Midnight is enough mostly due to how his song selection and style changed.
This one is with the trio and is less homogenous than his later recordings became.
Please I'm not looking down my nose at his other work, far from it, I just prefer this era.

Get ready for one of the most wonderful surround music experiences imho! I'm taking my copy of the Winelight DVD-A to the grave!
Thanks, Adam!
I am listening to it as I write. WoW! You're absolutely right. Just fabulous! It sounds better than I remember my LP ever sounding. Man! This music transports me back to 1980. I think I'd better put on American Gigolo with Richard Gere and friends. LOL!!!
Is there any Blondie in hirez-surround?? :spot
Yes, there's a DualDisc of their 2000's album "Curse Of Blondie".
