What's the Latest QUAD TAPE Added to Your Pile? Q8, Q4

The gold cartridge UA tapes aren't just nicer looking, they're far better sounding. As winopener says, the gold ones were made in Canada and they're way better than the black and white shelled ones from the US, which are oversaturated and have a frequency response that falls off a cliff at about 6kHz.

THAT'S a find... and i think a first. Plenty of CD4 but no hint of any Q8 ever for the Motowns quad.
After all, if a Q4 of Imagine was unnoticed outside Japan for 46 years, no surprise these can be found. Seems that Mark Anderson will have a hard time keeping his discography updated.

No shit!! Wow. Never would have guessed. I wonder if that means there's a Q8 counterpart for the Jackson 5 Greatest Hits, Supreme's Greatest Hits, Marvin Gaye / What's Going on, or even still: Temptations / All Directions!

Well my............. BIG SERPRISE ..........came today in the mail these are from that same Japanese Auction I got the Jackson Five Q8 tape from, there was 3 separate bids one was for 3 Q4 tapes and 12 Stereo tapes the other 2 bids was for a total of ...... 180 Q8 TAPES & 49 stereo....... it will take me awhile to photo each one but I will and I will give them to Steelydave to do his magic and catalog them in there right place, the pictures of my stash are from the Auction just to show what was won...

5 Elvis...

First question: from the photos isn't clear if all the 8 tracks are quad or not, the two Paul Mauriat are stereo or quad?
Second question: Fourth photo, there are two different The Godfather quad carts, one is on Paramount label? If yes it will be the true OST.

I thought that the seller on the Japanese Auction was holding back something so had my eye on this site till they dropped the bundle and I was waiting with money at hand I want say how much but about $49.00 per tape, you work it out ?????? as I said there was 28 stereo tape & 179 Quad....

PS. there is still another box to came in the mail they had to split the content up into smaller boxes because of weight...

Looks like the entire RCA/Victor Japanese quadraphonic roster. When you consider over the past 20 years I've probably seen THREE Japanese Q8's on eBay total, maybe less, to find that many is unreal (I know you didn't get them from eBay, but you would have thought that Japanese sellers would have sold SOME of those titles on eBay over the years, the QLP's show up quite regularly.)

Wow! The Stylistics ones certainly are a big find. I see also the Temptations In Japan and another Motown one (Supremes in Japan maybe?). Is it safe to assume now that all the Motown quads have Q8 equivalents? Or at least all the live ones?

I would LOVE to hear the Art Blakey album and the The World Of Michel Legrand fully discrete from Q8. I have the two CD-4s and they are excellent.
