I pre-paid mine way back when it was announced, then canceled -glad I didn't have my cash tied up until it comes out.

Don't know where you ordered from, but Amazon doesn't charge until they ship. Nothing tied up here, except for my stomach, in knots, waiting for this release. It was hard enough before, now this- w/o even a date.

I can't complain though- so many releases in surround recently and upcoming, including the best period from my favorite band (reportedly, we all know how things can go awry); pretty good days for us in this niche that has been so close to dying...

Plus once you pre-order you are guaranteed to get the lowest price, if it changes, between your pre-order date and the release date. And you can cancel at any time prior to when the item is shipped. Amazon is a hassle-free business.

Now apparently the dvd-a is delayed like the BR. On amazon US the BR says release date 11/5, but my order of the dvd-a doesn't even give a release date: "We need a little more time to provide you with a good estimate. We'll notify you via e-mail as soon as we have an estimated delivery date."

Got the dreaded email from Amazon UK on Friday: November 06 2013 - November 11 2013, with the same dates now appearing on the order.

I just checked. It says Nov. 5 for both of them.

Don't worry. Steve Howe is going to personally deliver each bluray to its destination with an apology and a song. Those who cheaped out to save $5 for a dvda will get a visit from Benoit David.

Dear Mr. Boss-man & gang:

Aparently few here have actually heard Steve Howe sing.@: On the contrary, I would suggest you lot pick up Benoit David's last two Mystery records! Sounds like the DVD-A buyers are getting the better end of the deal. ;)

CTTE update:

Amazon reports in my BluRay pre-order page:

"Delivery Estimate Wednesday, December 4, 2013 by 8:00pm "

:howl :yikes @: :howl

?????

Amazon US? I just looked and both the BR and dvd-a still have release dates as 11/5. Still no deliv. est. on my dvd-a though.

Hope this doesn't keep getting pushed back...

I wonder if the beta testers found some problems? I'm sure they couldn't tell us if they did... But it seems strange that they've had their discs for a while, but the actual release date still seeems up in the air.

That's just amazon. I preordered through Amazon before the delay, and they gave me a ridiculous delivery date as well. I cancelled the order and went with burning shed instead.

Yes, Amazon USA. I ordered the BluRay and on their webpage in my open order section and also in the email they sent me. I quoted the message above, it came from them. Dec 4th. As I recall, the Steve Hoffman CTTE 2.0 Gold disc had some release date changes last year, but I think I got the disc earlier than the date. SO I'm not that worried. Plus there is nothing I can do about it. I already tried to threaten kidnapping of SW&NW on a yacht with Euro-party girls and I got into trouble. So I am all out of ideas.

RE America 5.1 on Fragile: Yes, Steve's extra guitar parts took some getting used to. That was certainly Steve at his peak. His guitar on that was absolutely brilliant, you could hear his influences but he seemed to have invented a whole new style of flat pickin on that track.

I've never had this kind of thing happen w/ amazon before- though it's rare I pre-order; Usually wait to see if/when price comes down. But this was one release I wasn't going to wait for- at least not by choice...

Just strange, at least in my experience w/ Amazon, that they'd give you a deliv date a month after their posted release date. It seems like they may be expecting more delays, since they have the same 11/5 release date for the dvd-a, but say they can't give me an est. deliv. date. Maybe they're trying to drive us over the edge! (short drive in my case...)

December...?!?!? :(

Beta-testers?!?!?

There's also the possibility that pre-orders have outpaced the initial print run of the disc, so they're pressing more. Replication facilities have to be booked well in advance, they're not just sitting there idle waiting to pump out discs.

Also, you're going to have this disc in your collection for the rest of your life, with many more to follow - I'm as excited as everyone else, but whether it comes a week or four late is splitting hairs in the grand scheme of things.

Perhaps its being pushed back to give them a shot at the Christmas number one!

Well at least I got Steven Wilson's Drive Home on Sunday, and the Steve Hackett Live at Hammersmith set arrived yesterday and that will take me a while to get through, which will pass the time.

I like that reason- which would mean great sales numbers. But if that were the case, wouldn't they just push back the date on some of the secondary sites (e.g. Amazon, whose pre-order release date was already a week or so later than others) and go ahead and release the first run for the primary sites?

Of course a week or a month wait is no big deal in the grand scheme (nice Howe reference), but some of us may be patience-challenged. :howl :)

I dig your optimism, about a large print run, but since Deep Purple is kicking YES butt in the HOF voting, I doubt it. 5.1 fans like us are such a tiny subset of YES fans, and since there aren't more YES fans speaking out in the HOF poll(heck even Peter Gabriel is giving YES a run for the money....) I doubt its becasue of public pressure.
We have A LOT more work to do spreading the gospel of 5.1...

As far as waiting:

2013 - 1972 = 41 years. 41 years is a long wait as far as I am concerned. ;)

I do like the "many more" YES 5.1 titles part of your post.

I wonder if SW/NW will ever get around to redoing Renaissance.
