You've probably all figured out by now that the announced mysterious "mind blowing" Quadio box is Joni Mitchell’s The Asylum Albums and that in fact each of the four individual titles actually includes an Atmos mix too.

Other blu-ray additions from the past week are two reissues with Atmos mixes - firstly, Seal's sophomore album, and also Herbert Grönemeyer's 40 year old Bochum (40th Anniversary).

Finally, The Church's The Hypnogogue, one of the standout streaming titles in Atmos last year, is now available as a download at ImmersiveAudioAlbum.com (no region restrictions on this one).

The main announcement of the past week has been the release of David Gilmour's new solo album. Luck and Strange is being released with a Dolby Atmos mix on both standalone BD-A and in a big box (TBA), and although these won't be out until September, the first single is already on streaming services.

The next title in Barclay James Harvest's long line of 5.1 recordings is a video of their performance with the Slaithwaite Philharmonic Orchestra last year, Philharmonic! The Orchestral Concert, once again mixed in surround by @Stephen W Tayler.

In Japan, SACD reissues of Steve Hackett's recent recordings continue, this time with the Squackett project and the Surrender of Silence album - again, it can be assumed that the 5.1 mixes are identical to the original ones.

Now one title I have missed, already published in FLAC format via Bandcamp on April 1: Electric Moo - Air Conditioner Duet No. 2, a discrete Quadraphonic release by QQs own @Electric Moo. Thanks for the heads up!

And finally three lossless Atmos downloads via IAA. The first is Sampling With Franny by Richard Houghten, again mixed by @austinsignal, and the others are two albums from The National, First Two Pages of Frankenstein and Laugh Track, again of course, being part of a series of titles from Beggars Group, available only in the US.

Only one physical addition in the last 7 days? Fortunately, that's not all

So, the only material title is a 55 year old Jack Bruce solo album Songs for a Tailor, mixed in 5.1 by none other than @Stephen W Tayler.

But perhaps, like me, you've overlooked the SACD releases of the classical label Base 2 Music, whose latest, early April release is Jean-Baptiste Monnot's Voyage, which was also available as a 5.1 DSD download.

Now, Atmos downloads via IAA are led this time by Susan Wong's new album, which was simultaneously released on SACD, and can be also downloaded in 5.1 (FLAC) and Auro-3D (WAV) formats. The rest comprises another Elektragaaz title this year, two mixes by Chris Bell (Tigermind and Hank Hehmsoth) and already fourth Atmos mix of an album in a row from A Bad Think (now in Auro-3D, too).

Downloads clearly outnumbered newly announced physical releases again in the past week.

While the physical title in question will be available in several editions, it's a live release - Mr. Big will be bringing footage from their recent The BIG Finish Live tour after the summer holidays, both on a double SACD, standard and 4K Blu-rays, using 5.1, Dolby Atmos and Auro-3D formats. Sadly, their latest studio album Ten is going to be released on SACD in stereo only.

This time around, IAA brings Lumens, Birdsong At Morning's 4th EP, completing the 5.1 edition of their Annals of My Glass House set. The Atmos version is due in July. The other downloads are in Atmos: Sweatson Klank's EP Embers and especially the 7X instrumental album from BZ (@BZ Lewis), which you definitely should check out at least on streaming platforms (AM/Tidal).

Oh, one more thing - you can still support the 5.1 Blu-ray release by Look To Windward (@LTW) on Kickstart.

We have some major new entries this week!

First, the bigger sets: at the end of June, Fragile, the second Atmos mix for Yes by Steven Wilson, will appear, followed by Mind Games by John Lennon. And, in addition to the Rock 'N' Roll Star! box set, there will be another surround sound option for Bowie's Ziggy Stardust, as a stand-alone BD-A with the Atmos mix is scheduled for release in September.

Tim Bowness has hinted at an announcement of his Powder Dry solo album for next week, but we already know that a CD+DVD-A combo with a 5.1 mix by Steven Wilson should appear sometime in August.

As for downloads, IAA continues the Beggars Group series with Interpol's The Other Side of Make-Believe in lossless Atmos (mkv+mp4).

What could you have missed last week if you don't visit QQ regularly enough?

Well first of all there's #23 in the SDE Surround Series, the new album from Crowded House, Gravity Stairs. Out this Friday, May 31, and limited to 2,000 units!

Mentioned here previously, Powder Dry, the new solo album from Tim Bowness was announced for August 16 release. At the moment, there's a bit of confusion about the format though (the DVD may be DD, dts or a DVD-A, actually).

Finally, I've decided to put the re-emerging box set Electric Lady Studios: A Jimi Hendrix Vision back on the list – fingers crossed it actually hits the shelves this time around.

Fresh Atmos downloads on the IAA site: Infinite Point, an older album by the enthusiastically received BZ (@BZ Lewis), the full-album Maybe Not Tomorrow by Santpoort and singles from Soul Glitch, Michael William Gilbert or Luke Elliott.

I would believe Burning Shed.

Tim Bowness is one of the co-founders & owners of the Shed, plus its on KScope so fairly certain it'll be 5.1 DD.

Thats because Giancarlo delivered a fully authored DVD to KScope as he has the capability/patience to do it.

Its a DVD-V software glued to a DVD-A (but the authoring software is very very limited, remember the menus!) we went through a few trials to make sure it worked!

Message from Fish on Facebook re these Deluxe Editions, which now seem to become available in July:

We've been working on getting all the website and mailorder ready for the preorders and I decided to hold off for the announcement till we have everything properly in place. It will go live on the 12th June so we have a week to get everything together. Calum has been working on the single radio edits and Avril and Andy Bradfield should have everything together on the Dolby Atmos and 5.1 mixes by the 1st July. The projected landing for units on every format is now the 22nd July and if they arrive earlier they will be posted out earlier. I'll tell you more on the show but everything is clicking into place.

Week 22 was slow to start, but came to a strong finish!

The first addition was a BD-A for the 40th anniversary of Alphaville's Forever Young album. The Atmos mix is supposed to be from 2021, so it's probably identical to the one that's been on streaming services for a while.

Next up is an immersive debut from Norwegian post-metallers Leprous, whose eighth full-length album Melodies of Atonement will be released on August 30, the same day as the 5.1 remix of a Hawkwind classic In Search of Space (you guessed it, by @Stephen W Tayler). Rounding out the list of physical releases is a best of multi-channel SACD Retrospective by Rebecca Pidgeon, originally released on the Chesky label more than 20 years ago.

Oh right, and the two reissues from Fish will be announced in the coming weeks and should see the light of day by the end of July.

It should also be noted that there are a couple of postponed release dates regarding Snarky Puppy and Look To Windward. In both cases, thankfully, these are only a few weeks away. Whereas Björk's spatial collection is likely to be pushed back to next year...

Two Atmos downloads by two new artists are available on the IAA website - this time it's @Poli Elizondo's The Echo Veils project (including a 5.1 mix) and The Church member Jeffrey Caine's side project, Iris Doe.

I don't read German, but I found this Atmos title that looks like some kind of evil dead or Vampire audio play. Not sure if there's much music in it.

Week #23 finally offered a new batch from Dutton Vocalion - 4 new releases on 5 quadraphonic SACDs totaling 7 albums and 83 tracks.

Talking Heads' original 4K UHD A24 edition of Stop Making Sense is finally being distributed outside the U.S., and while the SDE shop, for example, has already exhausted its limited stock, it's still possible to pre-order from Recordstore for the 6/21 release. But a pure audio version is also coming as a 2CD+BD-A configuration (7/26), as well as a DVD-V+BD-V combo (9/13), both with a Dolby Atmos soundtrack.

IAN Records also announce a new addition in the form of a Bob Reynolds Group live recording.

A great acquisition was made by the Atmos delivery IAA - the Mark Knopfler's Guitar Heroes' charity single Going Home is now available for download here. And if you're more into classical stuff, there's also Oceans by Jennifer Thomas (also in 5.1 and Auro-3D).

Some pretty big entries in week #24!

In August, Pyramid, the fifth title in the The Alan Parsons Project series of surround reissues, will hit the market, this time complete with an Atmos mix.

A month earlier, Fish will serve us the last two of his reissues, Vigil in a Wilderness of Mirrors & Internal Exile.

Less than a week from now, Djabe will release Back to Győr, another live recording with Steve Hackett, this time on DVD-V bundled with vinyl.

Quadio batch #5 was announced for an early August release.

The furthest date on the list is now occupied by Nightwish, who return to the immersive party in late September with an Atmos mix of their new album Yesterwynde.

OK, Marillion's This Strange Engine was more or less confirmed for November.

As for downloads, IAA did treat us to a 5.1 mix from Scarred Art, and Atmos mixes from Doug Lynner and also from The Libertines (with Up the Bracket, the seventh release in the Beggars Group label series).
