I have been buying a lot of 3d discs from Amazon. Most are under $10 including shipping. I get my OLED55C6P tomorrow finally. I have a few dozen more on order and a dozen already in my collection so I will be busy for the next few weeks. 3d discs.jpg

Congratulations, sellerbird. I can't wait to hear your assessment of OLED.

And yes, there are some enticing 3D Bargains from Amazon and its third party sellers.

Bluray.com lists complete lists of 3D movies: http://www.blu-ray.com/3d/

Am currently watching for the first time on the OLED TV in 3D AVATAR. All I can say is that 55" bedroom TV is a freakin' planet and I am sitting there in utter amazement encapsulated in that surreal environment. Let it be said that Avatar in 3D is an EVENT you'll never forget.

HOSSANA!

Glad to hear the great review. My 55" is being delivered this afternoon and Titanic/Avatar is being delivered next week.

I really am excited for you, sellerbird.

In all honesty and I apologize for gushing but I never though I'd experience 3D in the home as awesome as this!

I've been a projection 'man' most of my adult life but if I could upgrade to that LG OLED 77 incher, I wouldn't hesitate to forego the extra width/height afforded by my Stewart projection screen in my main listening room.

Tonight's 3D Event: Titanic.

Wonder if I'll get seasick?

BTW, sellerbird, if you have an older receiver, it may not pass 3D (like my bedroom Onkyo receiver) so if you DO have two HDMI outputs, I suggest you output one directly into the OLED TV and the other [for audio] into your receiver.

No need to apologize for gushing. I have seen Titanic in the theater and it is amazing. I live close to Disney World in Orlando and I am an annual pass holder so I go frequently. Most of my favorite attractions are in 3d so there is no doubt I will be gushing too. I just ordered another dozen 3D blu rays this morning since today is payday. I still have another 20 or so on my wish list at Amazon. Only six more hours to go before Fedex shows up.:cool::cool::cool:

Well it is pretty easy to see why you are gushing. It basically gives me goosepimples. Now I have 3D video to go along with 3D audio. My system dumps on an IMAX theater. I watched part of Pixels and most of 3D Rarities tonight. It is like dying and going to heaven. Simply outrageous. Tomorrow I will calibrate the set to the Rtings suggestions and see how that goes. I will update the firmware and install the software on my LG smartphone. Then I plan on watching my all time favorite movie The Wizard of Oz. Should be a good day tomorrow.:cool::cool:

Hey 3D TV heads! Just in case you had not heard, producer Bob Furmanek and his team have released their fifth 3D restoration, one of the best 3D classic film on Blu-Ray: It Came From Outer Space.

Information about the restoration.

A recent review.

Where to buy it in America and Europe.

It even was awarded a prize recently.

Here are their other four restored titles:

Dragonfly Squadron

The Bubble

The Mask

Gog

Get it whilst you still can (or before it gets YOU)! :)

Alas, we were and are anaglyph 3D only ...... :( I do have this one also....

I will soon infect the grandson Torsten with 3Dmania.

CONGRATULATIONS, Sellerbird. It just ain't TV....IT'S OLED as in O', I've been LED to the promised land of WOW TV. And yes, sellerbird, you're NOT in Orlando, anymore.......that 55" powerhouse will transport you to planets, landscapes and distant worlds where you've never been before in the confines of your own home.

And aptly put that you finally have the 3D TV capability to go with your 3D sound system.

As Dr. Frankenstein exclaimed in the Karloff original: It's ALIVE!

The 3D titles have literally been pouring into my house........wonder how long they'll continue to manufacture them? And a few have the distinction of being UHD 4K and 3D combos: i.e. 'Ghostbusters' and the upcoming 'Passengers.'

First off it is Seilerbird with an I.
I don't care how long they keep making 3d discs, there is a giant back catalogue I am shopping and I have a 3D camera on order so I can make my own movies.

OK, Seilerbird with an I

Another hearty recommendation. JUST WATCHED "PAN" TONIGHT in 3D........SENSATIONAL!

And perhaps by shooting your own movies in 3D, you'll start a revolution. Makes me want to get back into filmmaking. Actually, that's what I was born to do. BTW, what type of 3D camera do you have? VERY CURIOUS.

3D FOREVER!

Thanks for the recommendation, I have added it to my want list at Amazon. At the rate I am going it is going to take me forever to finish off the list. I don't have the camera yet, I am starting off with the cheapest option I could find. Not wanting to start a revolution, just looking for some fun.

Are you going to change your name to 4-eyedwonder?

Nah, I suppose when I wear my reading glasses that's four eyed enuf for me.

That phone takes stills. I want a 3D movie camera.........it's probably $20K for 4K resolution..........if they even make them for consumer use. Most 3D movies are up conversions.

BTW, just added another 6 titles to my 3D collection. Am beginning to scrape bottom. $8~$15 each (and MOST have that $3.99 s/h charge). Oh well, do you see what OOP SACDs/DVD~As are commanding on eBay? Ridiculous!

But life doesn't stand still.......IT MOVES >>>> in 3D
BTW, I ended up ordering 8 3D titles....some were as low as $3.88 + s/h from Amazon third party sellers. All in VERY good to Like New condition.
I know life moves but I am a still photographer, I don't want to mess with video. I will leave that to the experts.

I did both. I have thousands of Kodachrome/Ektachrome transparencies and used to do slide shows with dissolves and soundtracks. But my first love was motion picture film/editing/even writing music for my mini dramas/comedies. And yes, seilerbird, a singular picture does speak a thousand words if well executed. I gave up photography when the cable channels started to go wild with the likes of National Geographic and the History Channel in HD. Who could possibly compete with that........the most exotic of locations reachable only by helicopter or hiking.

And now that we can actually shoot 4K on our cellphones and edit on our computers, I've given it up altogether. But then I suppose running a complicated business in 2017 will do that to you.

BTW, I miss the viewfinder which is sadly absent from today's digital cameras. It really taught me how to frame and focus........two 'good' habits which have remained with me even to this day.
