I was blessed with 4 pristine quadio discs yesterday, no cracks. Sundown sounds gorgeous. Perfect fidelity and surround mix. Quad was so far ahead of its time. This sounds like it could have been recorded and mixed yesterday. It’s rare that I hear a mix and have no desire to change anything, but this one of them.

Interesting to see how many views there have been in the newly created polls, as they yet to have any voting. Looks like Sundown is top dog for now. lol

Post office says mine are getting delivered today

What a pleasant change from the first batch delivery issues.
Looking forward to playing all of them......

Looks like today is the delivery day for lots of the first orders placed.

I might put in my vote for Mingus in just a few minutes.
I can’t wait to read the Spotlight ratings, reviews and comments. That’s where the music talk will shift to as this becomes the shipping, tracking, and broken case thread.

Just got a surprise in the mail a few minutes ago. I got my new October quadio bundle! Surprised as I had not received any tracking notice from Rhino. To my further joy as looking how they were packaged there were no damaged cases so on to listening to Mingus, Gordon, America, & The Spinners. It doesn't get any better than this don't you agree?

Nahhh, This is plain showing off!!!!!!! :):):):LB:LB:LB

Enjoying now America's Holiday Quadio, great sound!!!!!

Thanks.

Regards,
You know what I haven't had in years is an "After Six Shooter" which is Baileys Irish Cream, Kahlúa, and Peppermint Schnapps! It goes down like a chocolate mint.

Or if I'm just kicking back listening to Quadraphonic-blockbuster-spectacular new arrivals, I like Frangelico liqueur (bottom shelf center I think), two shots poured over vanilla ice cream. Hazelnut on Hagen-Dazs, godly stuff like Quadio discs have been.

It really does not get any better with a Charles Mingus in quad and mastered like this in the batch.

But wait... I think Rhino can equal this batch, or maybe surpass it with titles more to my tastes. If they can pull off a few more miracles like let's say the Eagles actually got approved, Joni Mitchell was readied, Jackson Browne sat down and approved the mastering, and Rod Stewart was also cleared, then yeah, they would just about top every previous Quadio batch with four of those artists included in a quarterly release.

Or get this as variety, one of the previously unissued quad masters, Rod, J. Geils, or Foghat along with Gil Evans and / or the other Joni Mitchell, and give those fans of lighter fare S&C Diamond Girl, and I think that they can perhaps nearly top this recent batch as a TKO bundle. It really comes down to personal tastes.

But somehow, I think a rock batch does not need to drift too for off axis to be a wildfire success. Like either of the Deep Purple titles with Rod, Geils, and Foghat!

We are going to need all of these titles in the coming year, tell the Eagles and Stewart that the fans demand it. I mean peak 70's period, what is not to like here for fuck's sake.

That's what is sort of cool about this "back and forth" genre thing. I think it's smart. Maybe next batch WILL contain some killer rock titles. It's just a matter of time, if not. So, I'm good right now....don't get this current batch until next Monday...and my DV titles should be here tomorrow.

Oh I thought you got yours already. Sorry to jump the gun.

But I agree, and hope that they include a rock title in their selection in the next four new titles offered, or even two or three rock out of the four. Sales performance of the current four can help determine the trend going forward and how much rock to include quarterly.

I remember being 12 years old and first time hearing "Machine Head" playing in a record store. It was Jack's Music Box in the Boulevard Mall in Las Vegas on Maryland Parkway. I was buying Alice Cooper "Love It To Death" that day. I had been listening a lot to Bread, Chicago, Grand Funk, Black Sabbath, and the Partridge Family. So right there, I hit a tipping point, and direct gateway to hard rock, and the path to quadraphonic was also opening up here. Then by the time I got "Killer" on LP - I've never been the same to this day. Teenagers out of control, gone wild!!! So I'm no longer out of control, not usually, but still gone wild - never fully recovered. :p
