They haven't done a book set reissue of MU (or any sort of compilation album for that matter, like Living In The Past) yet, so there hasn't been any reason to release this quad mix - if it does actually exist. That said, the fact that all of Too Old and part of Songs From The Wood - both of which came after MU - were done in quad does make its existence seem somewhat plausible.

A couple years back, @steelydave found an old billboard article dated December 1975 mentioning that "Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson has been working on a quad mix of the band's last LP with Rick Heenan at the console". I guess this could be referring to Minstrel (even though the quad master tape box credits Robin Black), but maybe it was the MU comp?

That's very possible.

It could even be a partially completed quad mix of M U Best Of's .?

For my money I'd love to see the Jethro Tull's Living In The Past get SW treatment. .I think most if not all of that album is currently mixed in surround .
(And both M U 'S vol one and two✌)

We have Ian Anderson and Steven Wilson to thank for such surround material
from the Tull Catalogue.....and they're still not finished!!

well i had a shuffle playlist with Mystic Meg's crystal balls of clairvoyance last night and i can exclusively reveal the 7 titles are;

- Richard Harris & The Prophet Of Doom,

- Mucky Blueberry's "Frisky Mabel's Joy",

- The Breast Of Bed Volume 3; "Hot Toast",

- Fony Arnaldo & Dawn Detergent; "He Don't Love You, Neither Do I",

- Butt Fiddler; "The Reverby Miss F.",

- David Doors & The Gates; "Please Release Her, Let Her Go",

- Donny Buildaway; "Extension Of A House".

..and tonight's Bonus Ball is = 11 😅😋😉🤪
Adam, are you saying that Bread was a jam band??? That kind of talk would end up spreading a widespread panic!

Also glad they'll contain STEREO TRACKS to make them more amenable to stereo centric listeners. Smart move, Rhino!
I myself am always happy to have a hi res stereo version included in a multichannel release even if I may never listen to it. However since I got a Surround Master I’ve found myself A/Bing a multichannel mix with it’s stereo counterpart and finding things I like in both!

Seems like not long ago, as someone mentioned recently, we were concerned that surround was gonna die a slow death the way Quad did.
Look at the blessings we have had in both old and new releases in the past few years! Not to mention new formats like Atmos and Auro3D!

I just can't afford $200 box sets, but boy howdy (hopefully) $30 Quadio BD's is simply wondermous. Yes? Well heck yes.

Also, on a comment @esimms86 made (...buy two copies for my Mother) got me thinking, was there ever any Dr. Hook made in Quad, and who would have the distro rights now?

no Dr Hook in Quad afaik, sadly 😔

Bette Midler - Divine Miss M or Charles Mingus - Mingus Moves or Billy Cobham - Spectrum or Roberta Flack - Killing Me Softly
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies or America - Holiday
Black Sabbath - Paranoid or Deep Purple - Burn or Deep Purple - Machine Head
Jefferson Starship - Red Octopus

Now there is some flexibility, but the two Jazz titles would be nice. Speaking of Jazz, the Gil Evans - Svengali is a hot session with great quad sound.

I’m not a big Alice Cooper fan, but I did think BDD would be a possible choice as this is the 50th anniversary (I believe) and that there would be things to mark the occasion.
