It was very nice of Rhino to get back to me with the same message i sent them.

Eureka! The elusive Red Octopus is in my possession as of today and I'm listening to it now as I speak...er, type. Again, thanks to Rhino, the Warner Music Group, and everyone else behind the scenes for this latest batch of Quadios. Yes, there were hiccups along the way and some not unwarranted frustration, but "all's well that ends well" has been the case for me at least. I hope that any of you who haven't received all your discs yet receive them soon to enjoy also.

Ahh...Grace Slick's "force of nature" voice, Papa John Creach's soaring violin, Craig Chaquico's exemplary guitar work, and last but certainly not least Marty Balin's soulful voice - a plethora of talent I think it's safe to say.

*UPDATE 8/10/23*

At the advice of a member here, I wrote to Rhino about the three damaged jewel cases (Paranoid, BDB, J Geils) - I thought they might offer to send me new cases. They wrote back right away, and asked me to send them photos of the damaged cases, which I did. They wrote back two days later and said they would replace the Quadio discs outright!

Today I received all three replacements. Thank you Rhino for providing excellent customer service, and thanks to QuadraphonicQuad for the community support and advice.

afaik there's another batch in the works as we speak! 🥳🤞💘

According to @ForagingRhino, 4 more titles will be available in October, with a more diverse musical range. I would guess there will be some modifications to the ordering situation as well.

Stay tuned, as I am sure Steve will fill us all in when he's allowed to announce stuff. He's very good at keeping us all informed. And remember, he loves this stuff just as much as we do

Just imagine what he's listening to, probably titles beyond the next four...

I love diversity in my listening! I also have my favorites that I hope are coming next. I hope one of the choices is a title that drives listeners over to QQ to find out about proper quad surround playback just like the "Paranoid" Quadio did.

But at any rate I'm likely to buy all four just because I like the format + musical performances + price point.

We're already at the mid-way point of Aug. So an announcement (or hints) could be only 4-5 weeks away.

I thought that the last four were musically pretty diverse. But I suppose they could go with a very mellow title in the mix, plus a more acoustic based piano / guitar album or two, and a balls out scorching rocker as well (for those that were mainly attracted to Alice & Sabbath). And if they included a jazz album that would really diversify the line-up.

"you are the one, the one i truly need.." 🙏🤞💘

sadly there was no Quad Reel to Reel of this beauty back in the day, AWB was only ever released on Q8 tape and CD-4 LP, yet through the sandpapery cracklefest and hissy haze of ye olde Quad formats we can still enjoy what i am willing to declare one of the all-time best "Rock & Pop" Quad mixes ever, yep. this is the one, the one you truly need. (oh ****, i've done that joke already 😆🤦‍♀️ )

if ever a WEA Quad deserved the Quadio treatment, this my fellow Quad addicts, is it.

oh g'waan oh Foraging one, put a fat old drunk out of his misery this October, will ya..!? 🙏😳🤯🍻

pretty please?? with 192kHz on the top! 😅🥰🤞

I must have played "Pick up the Pieces" in CD-4 for everyone I knew back in the '70s. It was truly a quad track that made an impression. (Sadly, as with most of my quad demos to others, no one leaped at the opportunity to get a quad system of their own)

"failing" a Quadio BD of the AWB 😅 i'd very merrily take a 4 disc buffet silver platter of any of these WEA treasures
(in no particular hors d'oeurve.. 🤤 )

James Gang " Miami", Eagles "On The Border", Frank Zappa "Apostrophe", Bette Midler "The Divine Miss M.", James Taylor "Gorilla", Eagles "One Of These Nights", Herbie Mann "Reggae", Gordon Lightfoot "Sundown"
