Yup, that would be very cool I'm all for that also. Don't remember what all has been mentioned here yet as to some of the 70's era Quads that were reported by ads as "Coming Soon" like they'd been mixed already, but they never showed up. Some of our more knowledgeable (and sharper) historians here probably can rattle some of those off the tops of their head; well how about it ya'll???I’d love four surprises, like if they tossed us a bunch of never released 70s period quad mixes. But for now most know which ones I’m rooting for.
I'll take these please-Just check out my ancient WB Quad label page

There are some 'announced but not released' titles in the charts of label releases. There is no proof that they exist, of course, they were only mentioned in Billboard articles and Schwann Catalogs of the era
Thanks for the correction, sjcorne! Someone mentioned it earlier on the thread, and I thought they meant that it was in quad. It seemed strange, but I was surprised to see Uncle Ted in quadrophonic. No Foreigner albums were released in quad.
Does anybody knows if Barry Manillow can be release by Rhino? Love to have any quad of him on Blu-ray Audio

Living in London, England in the ‘70s I had Machine Head in CD-4 and SQ, the CD-4 being an American import. The mixes were completely different with the vocals being further in front with the CD-4 version and more reverb. The sound seemed to be more compressed.4 Quadio picks and 2 questions:
Atlantic - Foreigner
WB - Billion $ Babies ACG
WB - Machine Head (US mix) DP
Grunt - N/A - Not a huge JA or HT fan
Runners up:
WB - Paranoid or Master Of Reality* Black Sabbath
*No clue if this was mixed in quad, but it would be sweet, IMO.
Question 1. Why the difference in US and OUS mixes for Machine Head?
Question 2. Which albums would you NOT buy in quad because the mixes were so poor?
Actually, Q2 is a joke. I’m guessing some of us would buy Mitch Miller’s entire catalog IF it were the only new product in quad. No offense intended. If I didn’t have 7 kids, I’d snatch up everything remotely interesting.
Here’s hoping all 4 of the new Quadio offerings are enough to drive fast sales!
The UK aka SQ mix of Machine Head has been released on SACD (with swapped rears). I'd say that disqualifies Machine Head on the "never been released on optical media" statement. I know the CD-4 mix is different but that's really splitting hairs.Living in London, England in the ‘70s I had Machine Head in CD-4 and SQ, the CD-4 being an American import. It was released as a 5.1 mix on DVD-Audio (2001), you'll also recall. The UK aka SQ mix of Machine Head has been released on SACD (with swapped rears). I love your choices....and taste in music. I'd be super happy if your guesses are correct!Alright, solely to raise the number of posts in this thread, I'll throw my hat in.
We all have a wish list and mine is far from what most people on QQ would pick for eventual release.
In the long run, I'm hoping for:
Roberta Flack – Killing Me Softly
Donny Hathaway – Extension Of A Man
Dionne Warwicke – Then Came You
Spinners – Spinners
Spinners – New And Improved
Spinners – Pick Of The Litter
America – Holiday
David Gates – First
David Gates – Never Let Her Go
I know, that's not what you guys want...
Whatever we get, I thank the fine folk at Rhino for making these happen.
I love my Aretha Franklin and Chicago Quadio releases.
Barry was on Arista (and briefly, RCA), so his albums are part of Sony now. Maybe contact Dutton Vocalion to make a suggestion?Does anybody knows if Barry Manillow can be release by Rhino? Love to have any quad of him on Blu-ray Audio

I thought the original post was referring to the Cat Stevens album. No Foreigner albums were released in quad.
Thank you, Dr. I believe you’re correct, as well. I’m not sure how I screwed that up, so false alarm. Blame it on the fact that I was 10 when they started shutting down Quadrophonic (or QuadrAphonic, if you please). I DREAMED of hearing music in quad as a teen, so 5.1 in the early 2000s was my dream come true. After sampling a couple Dutton Vocalion quads, I’m ready to do Quadio.I thought the original post was referring to the Cat Stevens album.
That EMI SACD had reversed rear channels? Definitely not an expert but it’s the first time I’ve heard that. The UK aka SQ mix of Machine Head has been released on SACD (with swapped rears). It started as wondering "what mix is this?" since the SACD did not sound the same as either a CD-4 capture or an SQ decode. After a bit of head scratching we realised it sounded like the SQ but with rears swapped, tried it, and hey presto it matched. That EMI SACD had reversed rear channels? Definitely not an expert but it’s the first time I’ve heard that.
If I recall correctly on the SACD, most songs have organ rear right and guitar rear left. So you’re saying these should be swapped?
Groucho Marx once encountered a game show contestant who had a lot of kids. Groucho ad-libbed "I like my cigar, but I do take it out once in a while." The beauty of live television.7 Kids. Wow
Just the original quad on blu-ray. No atmos or 5.1.Just starting to catch up on the forum, and found this when I did a search on "Jefferson Starship" (one of my favorite groups once you ignore Starship). Does anyone know if the expected Grunt release will by QAudio only, or also get a mix that might wind up on Apple Music in Dolby Atmos?
