IINM, the Cat Steven's GH was released on A&M in both CD-4 & Q8.

A&M -> Interscope Geffen A&M -> (parent) Universal Music Group

The mix got pretty poor ratings from the things I've read also.
(I've got the CD-4 but I don't remember how it sounded other than scratchy :).)
Any chance of Grass Roots GH???

Got a copy :) ???

Apparently for RHINO to embark on such a renewal of their QUADIO program meant that it has been in the works for some time ..... going through all their pretty extensive back catalogue of titles to determine which are in primo usuable condition to meet the criteria for their usual HIGH standards. And the decision not to attempt to extract a pseudo center channel and release as is is seriously commendable. Unlike some record companies, WEA have been stalwart stewards of their masters properly labeling them and storing them in vaults not privy to 'mishaps!'

WHATEVER they release....I WILL BUY! IMO, the missing link in desirable physical QUAD media since companies like Audio Fidelity and Dutton Vocalion initiated their SURROUND SACD reissues! The price is certainly right for a PURE Audio BD~A in 192/24 resolution in a super jewel audio case and I wish RHINO and the WEA group the best of luck and thank them profusely for finally making these golden nuggets available again in 21st century technology!

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU 💫

I do not know for sure, and this is all conjecture, but I have a feeling that if it were not for our friend ForagingRhino, these Quadio's (including the Chicago and Doobies boxes) would never have seen the light of day. Some times with big corporations, it takes an individual to get on a mission and work tirelessly over a LONG period of time to get special stuff like 'Quadio' releases done. They are not going to get a windfall from these. They will probably make enough to keep the ball rolling by selling them direct, which is fine these days as you're not waltzing into Best Buy to buy music anymore, but modern companies are bottom line oriented. We saw how DTS dumped the DTS-CD because it made money, but not ENOUGH money. Same could probably be said for DVD-A's and SACD's, and every other niche product that has come out along the way.

No matter what the true reason is that these discs are arriving next month, I hope everyone here realizes that without Steve, these discs would never have appeared. He truly is one of us. And I mean that as a compliment

THE BEACH BOYS -
Good Vibrations/Best. Reprise MS4-2223 (CD4), L9M-2223 (Q8)

Here's an unreleased GH that I would love to hear

Me too.

There was also announced but not released : another best of ;

Jimi Hendrix - Crash Landing Reprise MS4 -2204 (CD-4) , L9M -2204 (Q8)

Another I'd like to hear.

The only thing is that the Hendrix is now on Sony , and I'm seeing The Beach Boys is on Capitol UMG..currently..but I could be wrong as I notice some Beach Boys disc's (might) still be with Reprise . (I hope so anyways)

The Beach Boys' Brother Records albums were distributed by Reprise in the 70's and 80's. I believe eventually either The Beach Boys both those back, or Capitol did.

I'm wondering about notices from Rhino. I recently tried to change my email address with them, major fail yet someone has had time to send me two emails explaining how busy they are.
C'mon Rhino, hire someone that knows how to run/fix a web site, please.

It's not only Rhino, to be fair. When I changed my email address I've had to contact many many sites to try and change it. Some are easy; some make you jump through hoops and some just plain don't work.
...and some continue to send notices to the old email address anyway. Fed Ex come on people!

I would open a new account with new email addy, and change name slightly, like Jeff to Jeffrey to keep it straight what account to use. Forget about the old account that they can't be bothered to update.

Alright, solely to raise the number of posts in this thread, I'll throw my hat in.

We all have a wish list and mine is far from what most people on QQ would pick for eventual release.

In the long run, I'm hoping for:

Roberta Flack – Killing Me Softly
Donny Hathaway – Extension Of A Man
Dionne Warwicke – Then Came You
Spinners – Spinners
Spinners – New And Improved
Spinners – Pick Of The Litter
America – Holiday
David Gates – First
David Gates – Never Let Her Go

I know, that's not what you guys want... :SB

Whatever we get, I thank the fine folk at Rhino for making these happen.

I love my Aretha Franklin and Chicago Quadio releases.

4 Quadio picks and 2 questions:

Atlantic - Foreigner
WB - Billion $ Babies ACG
WB - Machine Head (US mix) DP
Grunt - N/A - Not a huge JA or HT fan

Runners up:
WB - Paranoid or Master Of Reality* Black Sabbath
*No clue if this was mixed in quad, but it would be sweet, IMO.

Question 1. Why the difference in US and OUS mixes for Machine Head?

Question 2. Which albums would you NOT buy in quad because the mixes were so poor?

Actually, Q2 is a joke. I’m guessing some of us would buy Mitch Miller’s entire catalog IF it were the only new product in quad. 😄 No offense intended. If I didn’t have 7 kids, I’d snatch up everything remotely interesting.

Here’s hoping all 4 of the new Quadio offerings are enough to drive fast sales!👍

7 Kids. Wow 😮

Now that would have been an interesting use of the features of DVD-Audio. You could have had Sing Along with Mitch, the bouncing ball could have followed the lyrics on the screen, the background vocals could have been in the rears and the track without lead vocals in the fronts.

What a missed opportunity! It would have sold in the teens at least. Karaoke for the high fidelity crowd!

NOTE: I actually remember my parents having a Mitch Miller album in which neighbors and friends would come over after dinner and they'd all sing along with the record. Seems hard to fathom these days. How different times were
