I love the designs...so sleek looking...geeze...gives me the chills..UNTIL I played a record and heard the "pops and crackles":howl

Yes, but with a new, high tech turntable comes buying NEW vinyl. That's the way I'd do it....would not play my old vinyl...which is why it's such a foolish idea for me.

Well.............Snood has not been to a used record store (save for my 2 jaunts to a couple old haunts about a month ago just for old times sake) in a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time.

While it is nice to see people getting into old vinyl again...............must say, Snood was very shocked by the prices they wanted for stuff that can be still found at garage sales or flea markets in great shape for a TENTH OF THE PRICE. Snood browsed and compared a lot of the stuff me had to their's and the prices...................14 bux for Macs rumours........and on up - was like huh - remember buying these at the same stores years ago for 2 to 3 bux. Did not even try to haggle on the few was interested in because they were sooooo much.

altho a week later called one guy...........the one that never heard of surround or 5.1 and had no idea of Tom Petty's New release in 5.1 Bluray.........about a Pink Floyd The Wall Record Store day 2013 singles box.............haggled my way down about 15 bux - he heard cash and was like yeah Will hold it for ya. About 38 bux paid for it.

but even their cds........7 to 10 bux which can buy on line for like 3.75 or lil more in same or better shape.

Almost got off work today just to get some of the record store day stuff, but the beatles mono 45 was interested in was long gone........yes Snood collects Beatles Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.............and yaaaaaaaaaaaay at same time - Blue.Monk knows what Snood is on about there. :p

I seriously need to go do something....getting ready to place another order. Stumbled across Robert Reed Sanctuary via Robert Van...'s other thread. I really like older Mike Oldfield and this disc pays homage to that sound...only, I suspect this disc has much better audio than the older MO discs I have. There are 2 copies of the DVD-A on Big River......I'm really ready to pull the trigger....feeling weak.......

If you like the content most love the sound...I guess you mean this one

That's it. I do like the content. Always been fascinated with the Mike Oldfield sound....

As long as this doesn't interfere with you buying Warchild...I'm all for this purchase:cool: and there might be a possible Scorps purchase in the very near future...just saying...my confidence in the Scorps audio quality isn't very high..BUT we can't count it out either..

LOL - no, Warchild is already on it's way. lol...they didn't give me enough time to cancel. I kid, I kid.

A little about the Scorps release HERE

I know it's not surround...but if they could somehow nail the audio on this...I'd get it. In other words, if it is warm sounding, with excellent bass....I'd be on it. But somehow....I figure it's bright, and with no improved low end...and if so....would be waste of my money...even as much as I love the Scorps.

One of my biggest tasks is to bring you to the "dark side"(non surround) sometimes when it's the best version available....my first preference is surround but that's not enough to satisfy my needs..lately we have been blessed with a lot of surround titles...but I need more...I can find some "warm" sounding discs...but of course your "bass" needs...well..that's going to be hard...I hate bright/compressed sounding discs..so none of those will be suggested...

I do want to mention something to you...as much as you hate compressed discs..you love one that is compressed to death here...so keep an open mind when I suggest something out of your comfort zone:phones

dont hesitate :) seriously, it is a excellent album. Music wise the reference is obvious. Sound wise it is very good and the mix is fabulous. For me Rob Reed is on par with Steven Wilson mix wise. Out of print at the moment, but his Kompendium release is also a beauty mix wise.

Do you mean the Long Tall Sally EP? I saw quite a few in two stores yesterday and today. Does Snood want CV to pick one up if they are still there?

hahaha - nice find. Well.....if the Lips is compressed...and most likely it is...I'm smitten with the surround gymnastics...
