Yeah, I can always listen to SD.

And now, acourse, I have to bring Jennifer Warnes into this thread because she is so dang good. I know "Famous Blue Raincoat" is THE album to get of hers but my favorite is "Shot Through the Heart". If the first side is not a person singing from her heart and soul, I don't what could ever be.

Thanks Doug for suggesting another LP to look out for. I love JW's Jenny Sings Lenny and for some strange reason, I never bought anything else. I guess I thought I had the best and just stopped looking.

So, this is an interesting forum...since we have folks from different regions. I'm just curious....

I'm 52....and I swear...the single movie that captures what it was like being a teenager in mid 70's in midwest US is DAZED AND CONFUSED. I know of no other movie that simply nails every aspect of the way I felt, the things I did and the way we partied. The music is spot on, and the characters are spot on. It's almost spooky, how much it represents my teen years. WOW!

What do others my age think? And, if you haven't seen the movie...what in the world are you waiting for??

Discussion on the surround thread inspired me to do this...this one is for you Gos 2.0

wow off the forum for a couple weeks and looks like i'll be lost in playing catch up!

must add Tom Petty and boys did a mighty fine cover of Green Onions...

And of course....the version I LOVE - WARNING Black Sabbath 1970

headphone material right there! fits right in with Dazed and Confused!

Did you guys know Golden Earring has been a band since 1961? And that the four current members have been in the band since 1970, at the latest, with two of them being founding members? So, the current line-up is the same as during "Radar Love".

I have always liked their sound.

Oh, and on "Radar Love", the guitar parts in between the vocal parts come from the right back just a sure as shootin' through my Sony SQD-2050. I think what happens in situations like that is, if the part is an overdub, the phase may not match the original track and the decoder sends it to other channels.

Doug

amazing isn't it...the longest running band with the same guys..ever..if i'm not mistaken....and still playing...

I strongly recommend the ultra-deluxe exclusive Best Buy Live Anthology. A raft of CD's, a vinyl EP, and the whole thing on Blu-Ray-A. ALL their great hits, and some killer covers. Besides Green onions, they do great version of Captain Beefheart's Diddy Wah Diddy.
