Atlantic Records Celebrates Its 75th Anniversary With Special LPs and SACDs

I see they are part of the series once I open one of them. Well, some of them are.

All of them at the link I posted are "Atlantic 75 Series" on SACD (so far).

WHEW ...75 titles at a rate of 2 titles per month equates to THREE YEARS! And during that time, how many of those titles will indeed be remixed into Dolby ATMOS for streaming purposes? And a few like Hooties' CRACKED REARVIEW MIRROR already have an MLP DVD~A 5.1 remix on disc as well as a DVD~V 5.1 release!

NOT to mention RHINO/WEA'S current BD~A Quadio program...will it in any way conflict with ATLANTIC RECORDS current Stereo hybrid SACD program?

And will that list grow into 90 as has been hinted at.....yeah, they stopped at 75 but more titles had been proposed?

IMO, with so many variables, committing to all 75 [or MORE] via a subscription service would be a real gamble.

Let the Buyer be VERY aware!

Sadly all the SACDs I'm interested are listed as Hybrid Stereo, so no surround for me. Are any of them 4+ multichannel?

Yeah... it’s an odd thing to take a stand on. I’ve gotta think there’s more to it than meets the eye.

I can kind of understand if an artist doesn’t want their catalog remixed for surround (as disappointing as that would be), but what on earth would be the opposition to an approved mix being placed on SACD?

Yikes, SO MANY have already been released in multichannel on SACD...why the repetition?

This title, in particular, just had a MoFi Stereo SACD release as well as a fantastic MLP DVD~A 5.1 release

When I reread the post it says Phil Collin’s management.
And Chad’s video says they only have the Collin’s titles for a year.
I’m ok , the AF versions are enough for me

We already know that some of these titles are also slated to have Atmos releases. Maybe all of them will? (At least streaming?)

If I have the Genesis box set of sacds, these releases will basically be the same (except for packaging) right?

If so, it just seems like a ploy to repackage and have the faithful rebuy.

i'm hoping they're all new remasters otherwise it smacks very much of a cash grab!
