For those of us in the U.S.A., has anyone figured out the most economical place from which to order any of these upcoming Blu-ray Audio releases?

I don't have anything definitive right now unfortunately.

personally I'm hopeful Amazon UK will come up with the goods and start listing these as pre-orders (preferably as of tomorrow!).

I'm thinking if they haven't gone live on there by tomorrow night I will drop them an email.

meantime still waiting on a response to the questions I put to the two contacts at Universal given on the Universal Brands News page item about this BDA campaign regarding these releases. I'll report back if/when I hear anything.

...which by my estimation leaves another 25 titles yet to be announced/put up for pre-order, if the launch tally of 50 is to be maintained.

wouldn't it be great if the next 25 included the Dire Straits, ABBA, U2, Queen, etc albums which have been alluded to by the UMG CEO... :D

More that were omitted from my latest FNAC search (no idea where they've gone!?)...

A Love Supreme - John Coltrane,
Tea For The Tillerman - Cat Stevens,
Jonas Kaufmann, Orchester der Deutschen Oper Berlin, Donald Runnicles Wagner.

So plus the 25 in my list, SITKOL and these three, I make that 29.. we've also seen placeholders on Amazon for:
Latino Gold - Milos,
A Night At The Opera - Queen.

So we're at 31..

Dying to know what the other 19 are.!!!! :howl

Most I won't buy. Either because I'm not interested, or because I already own a hi-res disc. SITKOL, Marley, Miles and Supertramp are the ones I'm interest in acquiring. Likely I'll start with Supertramp.

in all seriousness, at this point I'm looking to definitely pick up Bob Marley, Supertramp, Stevie Wonder and the Diana Krall (it's my favourite of her M/C SACDs) no matter what.. and maybe get seduced into getting a ton more of them if I see any in the flesh anywhere, or can find a way to get a discount from somewhere for bulk buying. (Lord loves a trier..) :p

At this moment in time, i'm only buying Stevie Wonder & Supertramp.

oh and Kitty Kat Stevens of course.. so that's 5 of 'em at least..

I've got the SACD. The Blu-Ray may or may not be better, so I'll wait for feedback. I've owned a cassette, Q8, MoFi LP, Gold CD, CD, SACD and 2 CD deluxe edition of this one.

He is Sebastian's (Kwad Kitty) favorite artist.

I guessed as much Linda, in fact I'm surprised you haven't got the lot in some form or another already!
I was only pulling your leg about Cat, I couldn't resist the Kitty gag!

at this point I'm not even sure if Tillerman's going to be the latest (HD Tracks) mastering, or one of the various other masterings from the last 10 years (there's a few from what I can gather!?!?).@:

At this moment in time, i'm only buying Stevie Wonder & Supertramp.

I'll be waiting to read some reviews before taking the plunge but the ones I'm most interested in are:

Breakfast in America - Supertramp.

Symphonie n.9 - Moldau - Préludes - Antonin Dvorak, Bedrich Smetana, Franz Liszt, Ferenc Fricsay. Symphonie n.5 - Gustav Mahler, Herbert von Karajan.

The Velvet Underground & Nico.

Layla - Derek and the Dominos.

The look of love - Diana Krall.

Legend - Bob Marley.

...the rest don't do much for me.

On the fnac.com site you get a €15,00 or €25,00 gift voucher when buying 3 or 5 of the new blu ray audio titles, but I have not found a way to order from outside of France. And when that is even possible, freight charges might eay the discount anyway.

Just a thought....i'd read that there were 3 titles initially released ( or intended ) last year ? I assume Rolling Stones, the first....what were the other 2 titles, if any ??

I'm going to pick up Zazie I think, and probably Supertramp.

Then I'll see if the reviews of the Queen disc are any good, when it finally comes!
