i guess it would be stereo. hard to imagine that UMG will go in the trouble on their own good will, to spend some bucks for
remixing this album. so, most likely your bank account is safe as it can be in present turmoil of financial institutions

Stereo 24/96 would be pointless. We already have HD tracks.

Remember that, in Universal's eyes, this is a both a new format and a re-launch of hi-rez. So it stands to reason that "old faithful" titles will be the first ones to see the light. We are niche players - and although we are their target, we are not mass-market, which is who needs to accept and buy this format in order for it to flourish. So be patient.

I do hope that at least some of these are 5.1.

it's sort of strange re-launch, when even those, who have interest in such initiative, cannot find any kind of related
info in regards of tech.side (such like formats, used for relises source, was it flat transfer of previous masters or
re-mastered, etc.) and list of artists would be in the first batch.

AUDIO STREAMS
The Pure Audio Blu-ray can hold various audio streams in stereo and surround. The audio streams are allocated to the colour buttons on the remote control, also allowing for a seamless change between them e.g.





Red: 5.1 Surround
Yellow: Stereo
Green: 7.1 Surround
Blue: 9.1 Surround

I sent an e mail to the contact asking if specif. the media would be multi
channel also. will let you know, but by the looks of this, it's a shoe in!! WOW!!

it looks like they are getting very smart with this one and so the TV will finally be an "Option" on these kinds of discs rather than a necessity!

very excited to learn 2L are affiliated with these upcoming Decca/Universal "Pure Audio" releases next month!

I think this is the first true indication that we have surround on the way with these new blu-ray's..!!! well, well, well...

.. I wonder if there's any plans for some new rock/pop stuff on these in 7.1 (or even 9.1) can you imagine...?!?!?

I'll be more than happy with 5.1 but with the 100's of multitracks at their disposal on modern albums, they could get some totally over-the-top 7.1 mixes out of today's artists' music..!!
