Well, the Yes catalog for starters right?

Always wanted one of those Danelectro contraption looking beasts.

Also not in surround: "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" (Stevie Wonder). I can probably think of some more as soon as I hit 'post".

I own two electric sitars - an original Coral like the one in figure 1 of the article (exactly like the one pictured from Main Drag Music) and a Jerry Jones "baby" sitar. Both are fun to play, but I think the baby puts out a more pleasing tone and sounds closer to a real sitar when you dial it in just right. The Coral is so light weight it feels cheap, but the 13 "sympathetic" strings look cool (but you can hardly see them in that picture) and even have their own pick-up. Those lipstick pick-ups are the same one as on my Danelectro Dan Armstrong bass.

ahh sitar....looks VERY difficult to play!!!! and geez, have you seen Anoushka's horrible calluses/open wounds from playing???? (I know , I sound like Alan Sues in Laugh In....)

So I thought that THIS might be a better solution since I have not come across any decent Sound Libraries...

Love its sound ..so many harmonics...

EH also makes the B9 pedal which replicates a Hammond B3. Sounds very cool.

But, those are the real deal.

That's true. Also worth reiterating that while George Harrison helped raise Ravi Shankar's global profile even further, it was Shankar who made the sitar famous outside of India. He began to tour and record in Britain, Europe, and the US in the late 50s, and he was already quite well-known abroad when the Byrds hepped Harrison to him.

And wouldn't you know: the interwebs being what they are, there's already a list of well-known pop artists who used electric sitar:
