Bonjour Alain, welcome to QQ. Being a Yes fan, you are in for some nice remixes the coming year(s).

I've just got the new BluRay + CD "Close to the Edge" in 5.1 : what a sound !

I'm a Yes fan, a ELP fan, a Pink Floyd fan, a Genesis fan, a Toto fan, a Steely Dan fan, a Michael Franks fan…etc... and a big big fan of Gino Vannelli (president-creator of the first fan club in Europe, in 1981) My life is Music… and I'm very happy to find a site like QQ, to exchange experience and news with other fans like me !

Bonjour de Paris !

And it's official!

"April 2014 will see the ultimate expansion reissue of Emerson Lake and Palmer’s groundbreaking ‘Brain Salad Surgery. Including brand new 5.1 and high resolution stereo mixes, alternate takes, previously unreleased material, brand new liner notes, digitally enhanced artwork and rare/unseen photography…"

No news on "Trilogy" but I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that its reissue will also be released on that day too. :)

YEEEEAAAAAYYYYY...!!!!!! :wave

Thank you for the great info, RT! (y)

Sure without a price. So they can make it more expensive when the real date will be announced :(.
38 € was a steal! But I think it will raise!

I think... for the people who voted less than "10" for the CTTE 5.1, they should pay "double" price than the rest of us and they should get their version on 8-Track tape! :yikes

Actually, I really doubt it will be priced to high, since ELP is nowhere near as popular now as YES or Steven Wilson or other new 5.1 projects coming out. So I think it will be a reasonable price. :) But we will see. Back to the waiting game now. Can someone wake me up when it is April 2014?@:

I just heard on Planet Rock (UK DAB station www.planetrock.com) on their Music News that the 40th Anniversary re-issue of Brain Salad Surgery with the 5.1 mix will be released in April 2014  - but no mention of Trilogy :howl

You drink too much german beer! ;)

Never enough, my friend, never enough. But I do keep trying!

Off topic but in light of the thread I normally only drink Real Ale (and can't abide Morris Dancing - apart from the Python's Fish Dance!), but when last in Taiwan I succumbed to a large intake of Taiwanese lager (way better than any brewed in the UK - it had a flavour!). Still doesn't make up for no release date for Trilogy though!

So, it's easily going to be over a $100.00 right?

Some news on the official web site of "Super Deluxe Edition": http://www.superdeluxeedition.com/news/emerson-lake-and-palmer-brain-salad-surgery-super-deluxe-box/

"As well as the Super Deluxe Edition we can expect a cheaper deluxe edition": each Super Deluxe Edition is "expensive" (between 120 to 150 £ sterlings), but I think it's the price to pay to buy a must, a luxury product, as a collector !

Rendez-vous le 7 avril 2014… OK… MAIS à quelle heure ?
Have a meet the 7th april 2014… OK… BUT, at what time ? ;)

Well, if it's going to be in a 100+ USD box set, I think I'll pass...
The Kellogg 5.1 mix is really magnificent and I got the SACD as well and a mint Japanese LP pressing from the late 70's.
I really don't think another mix will reveal anything out of this world from this, and I feel it's a waste of time and resources REDOING BSS, instead of going for Trilogy and Works...heck, even "Love Beach"!!!!( really underrated LP...in spite of the WTF cover photo)

BSS is in no way preventing the planned Trilogy release. BSS is their most important album by a number of measures. The expanded release will include everything from the period. I suspend this is in the $50 - &70 range and I will gladly pony up for this one.

Stevens answer to my ELP live material question was that he believes the Sony program will continue.

There's supposed to be a a standard and not-so-deluxe edition as well.

If the not-so-deluxe version has the new 5.1 mix, I'm in.

If not, I'm with the Kap., I'll stick with my old Kilngberg/Kellogg SACD/DVD-A and skip this one altogether. Now for Trilogy I'd even swallow the bucks for a big stupid box if that was the only way to get it in 5.1..!
