For lovers of Hollywood Musicals, Universal's 2017 Remastered release of Irving Berlin's HOLIDAY INN is a triple threat: Contains the original B&W version, a New 'Improved' colorized version AND the 2017 ALL NEW Broadway Production at New York's ROUNDABOUT THEATER of Holiday Inn in 5.1 for the paltry asking price of $8.99 [Universal/2 BD~V discs]

it took me a LONG time to get into the horror genre; in fact, it was a former student (Rod the Mod!) who finally convinced me to let go and let gore! the Dolby Atmos track on this 4K release is insanely good! the Goblin soundtrack sounds fantastic and the effects throughout are immersive, impressive, and incredible--it really ups the scare factor of this giallo masterpiece!

I am aware there are two 4K restorations being promoted in the US by Synapse and Europe by TLE, respectively. The two restorations differ in terms of colour timing and contract substantially. The US release seems in par with previous American releases, but the colour palette that resembles almost every previous European release is coming from the TLE restoration. I am Italian but am currently based in Australia. The regular blu-ray that was released here in 2017 (for the 40th Anniversary) is quite the way the film should look like (to the best of my knowledge). Contrast is not boosted like in the Synapse release. That one looks good on stills, but it's not that balanced when you watch the entire movie. I'm voting for the TLE restoration, even if that doesn't include the original 4-channel soundtrack. There is however a stereo track which sound very similar, so it's possibly a downmix. I wouldn't be able to offer more info between original mixes and the new remixes included, but have not read good things about the remixes. Just my two cents!

What a MOST pleasant surprise: Sure the B&W and 'Improved' Colorized version of this Irving Berlin Classic was superbly remastered but the addition of the 2017 Roundabout Theater's LIVE Production of HOLIDAY INN was an exceptional 2 hour bonus featuring brilliant performances, clever staging, exceptional choreography expertly photographed with stunning 5.1 sonics. KUDOS to all and most especially to Universal which included this unexpected bonus in a stunning 2 disc set replete with a classy embossed slipcover. And still only $8.99 from AmazonUS!

Existential and metaphysical are not terms I would associate with a Disney movie, but this is a delightful adventure to the afterlife. Featuring original jazz compositions from Jon Batiste and a "new agey" score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Streaming exlusively on Disney Plus, w/Dolby Atmos and Vision. As I have neither capability, The 5.1 Dolby + mix is exellent and discrete. The animation is what you would expect from Pixar - I was particularly impressed by accurately rendered "piano playing" and band performances (including the Roots leader, Quest Love).

I watched this one a few nights ago and thought it was a good movie with great 5.1 sound. Came here just to see if anyone else had noticed. Wonderfully done.

Tenet (2020) 4K:
1. Discrete surround, great fidelity, huge bass from the DTS-MA 5.1.
2. Quite a bit of dialogue muttering and I found a reasonable amount of it unclear. Lucky for subtitles.
3. Superb image.
4. I didn't really know what was happening but found it an entertaining 2.5 hours.
