I have bought these movies with every iteration from VHS-DVD-BR and now HD. If I had been into laser discs I am sure I would have bought that. Definitely on my list of all time favorites.

That's another one. With the exception of laser disc, I've had every format of that movie as well, and either the DVD or BR was replaced once with one of the collector or anniversary editions.

If I could just get the money back for the movies and music I bought more than once, I'd have a small fortune. Although, I'd bet that is the norm with this crowd.

I haven't even opened my last BD~V iteration of the Godfather Trilogy but this newly remastered/restored Native UHD4K set will be DEFINITIVE ..unless they decide to re~release it in the future in 8K [and how likely is THAT]?

I am not sure how quickly I am going to buy this. I've seen the movies a hundred times (well, not the 3rd one), so there is no urgency to see it. I bet come black Friday it will be half of what it is now. That's how I got the LOTR trilogy cheaply (still haven't gotten around to watching it. ).

BTW, good one about the chances of it being released in 8k.

Agree, but at $13 per disc [5 disc 4k set] at Deep Discount's current price ...cheaper than a CD. Agree, as well, the price will come down but am curious to watch Coppola's re~edited Godfather III. When the title is IN STOCK, maybe I'll bite when DD has their next 15% off sale!

As far as 8K .....the 4K titles are STILL trickling out of the studios at a snail's pace so doubtful they'd be in any rush to re~release in 8K! And as far as streaming in 8K ..... doubtful that amount of bandwidth is currently available!

Thanks for that tidbit .....ironically, I just placed an order with DD but didn't include the trilogy as it wasn't IN STOCK. AmazonUS still wants $80!

edit: ordered as well and they did take 10% off which covered my New York State sales tax...and s/h was FREE!
