The Green Knight (2021) 4K:
1. A decent surround mix with pretty much constant action from the score and what's happening on screen throughout the movie.
2. Some huge room-rattling lows.
3. Image is great. It's very nice to look at.
4. I found it a fun, pretty trippy watch. Well acted by all.
5. I got this one: Amazon.com: The Green Knight [Blu-ray] : Dev Patel, Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Sarita Choudhury, Sean Harris, Ralph Ineson, Kate Dickie, Barry Keoghan, Erin Kellyman, David Lowery, Theresa Steele Page, David Lowery, Toby Halbrooks, James Johnston, Tim Headington, A24; BRON Studios; Ley Line Entertainment; Sailor Bear; Wild Atlantic Pictures: Movies & TV

Thanks for the heads up. Have this in 4K but haven't watched it as of yet.

Great deal but I look forward to when GRUV gets different stock; it has been the same batch of movies the last year.

Was an even better deal when they offered 20% off to first time buyers. But I'm sure a lot of posters who just bought into 4K will find some VERY choice titles at great prices!

BTW, watched FORD Vs. Ferrari last night and found it an engaging watch. Damon and Bale were both excellent and the 4K looked great and the sound was excellent. One of my Black Friday $10 AmazonUS deals. Well Worth it!

They also have a different batch at $13.99 and less so it is worth checking it all out; I have just already bought what I like from their current inventory.

But to not seem like an ungrateful butt-head, I did just order the 4k Django from Deep Discount with their current coupon.

Which you WILL enjoy. Seems those 'boutique' labels like Arrow, Vinegar Syndrome, Kino Lorber and even Shout/Scream UHD4K discs will never show up as Amazon Black Friday specials for 10 bucks.

From A24 Films, the company that brought you the unsettling MIDSOMMAR comes the brilliant UHD4K Flick LAMB starring Noomi Rapace directed by Valdimar Jóhannsson. Set in a remote Icelandic location, Lamb is a slow burn with only three main characters and the unexpected birth of a fourth, who, surprisingly is a lamb with shall we say human qualities. Having lost their own child, Ada, Maria and her husband greet the newborn as a replacement with dire consequences. The cinematography and remote setting is exquisite on every level and the most unexpected ending will send chills up your spine. An excellent Native UHD4K transfer with HDR10/Dolby Vision and a sparse but immersive DTS~HD MA 5.1 soundtrack. Also includes two short films by the director and an ample glossy booklet in a digipak enclosed in a sturdy slipcase.

Looks interesting and it sounds similar to a foreign flick I saw ages ago, the name of which escapes me. A couple can't have a child and so the husband gives his wife a log he's been cutting that looks sort of baby-like and then things get weird. Based on a folk tale from wherever the movie came from. Definitely worth a look if you can find out what it was called from my poorly remembered summary!

It's now streaming on Amazon Prime......It's one of those memorable flicks in which nothing really happens but patience will reward one with a gruesome cautionary tale. I'm a sucker for those 'boutique' limited edition 4K movies.......something Hollywood USA won't touch. I did order FLEE from deep discount in BD~V [under $15 w/10% off coupon] and that too is streaming on Amazon. Even though streaming is quite good on NetflixAmazon Prime, I and many other reviewers still prefer physical discs as the 4K resolution and DTS~HD MA 5.1 audio is still superior and that goes for music downloads as well. Always prefer the physical disc! Ya gets what ya pay for!

Yep, the audio's so important. Hard to believe that the audio quality for so much streaming content is ~20 years old and no better than what we used to get on DVD! So, Blu-ray and 4K discs for me. Hopefully hard drive prices reduce here in NZ so I can start backing all my movies up. Not gonna be a cheap process.

Cannot believe the import duties and VAT imposed on the EU, UK, Australia and your beautiful country of New Zealand. But prices are ESCALATING in the US, as well. Everyone's getting in on the act. But movies and music are still relatively inexpensive .... FOR NOW! In the case of 4K, though, a LOT are being released in limited quantities overseas...in Germany, France, etc. AmazonUS charges a premium for those imports so it's still cheaper importing them from the releasing companies like Germany's Turbine Media ... even with s/h charges and thankfully still NO import duties in the US. I used to order a lot from AmazonUK, but their s/h charges to the states is becoming RIDICULOUS! More than the price of the ITEM, itself!!!!!!

Yes indeed. It sure ain't cheap. Even Imprint's BD's that I believe come from Australia are ridiculously expensive here in NZ. Still, there are deals to be had. Indicator/Powerhouse and Vinegar Syndrome sometimes forget to add the tax too so that helps keep the cost down!

Everything's going up in cost at the moment. I'm used to hifi gear getting cheaper but the SVS speakers I upgraded to a few years ago have done nothing but increase. My sub is now ~$500 more than I paid for it!

A couple things from reading (catching up on) the last few pages.

I really liked The King’s Man. I found it just as good as the first Kingsman movie. I can’t believe I went to the theater and sat through that dreck of a sequel, The Golden Circle. They should of called it the circle of crap.

All the Marvel Spiderman, The Hulk and Venom movies are licensed to Sony. So, they won’t be seen on Disney Plus anytime soon.

I loved Van Helsing! I was hoping for at least one sequel but that never came to fruition.

Avatar was okay and really good in 3D. It’ll be interesting to see how the sequels do since it’s been several years (2009). I know I’ve lost interest. But, if they can keep rebooting the comic book movies over and over, who knows??
