A new 4K restoration with DOLBY ATMOS is on its way for Coraline, one of the best modern animated films. It’s a shame home 3D died, as its 3D effects were some of the most effective, and most well used I’ve seen in the theater. Will grab on release, easily. Shame it’s out in December and not the more appropriate month of October

Yep, animation, most especially in 3D, can be quite AMAZING ... and Coraline is no exception. A real shame that if you want current 3D titles you have to look to Germany or other countries and purchase almost immediately as they are being manufactured in very short supplies. And some are still being released with accompanying UHD4K discs.

But I will state [again] that on a good OLED monitor, 3D can look almost as good [and sometimes better] than UHD4K as regards to brightness, contrast levels and bold colors! Have to pinch myself sometimes to realize it's NOT true 4K but upsampled 1080p 3D BD~V......and IMO, that does say something!
BTW, came across this little blurb but I don't think with the current reluctance to release 3D 4K discs it went anywhere .....
