I'm guessing the only thing different with the SDE version is a cardboard case?

I purchased from SDE.
I thought I had something in MCH so I typed Purple Rain in my data base and only have two stereo tracks from two best of CD's.

SDE EXCLUSIVE ATMOS PURPLE RAIN

Finally not a double dip for me and I get the fancy jacket Better than a marble.

It isn't terrible. It could certainly be better, but there are much worse mixes out there that fall into that category. The Police's Atmos mixes come to mind as being terrible.

It's also on Tidal. Look back through the thread and there are a few discussions on the mix. Overall I found it's pretty good, which is the consensus here, far from terrible. Different from the original though.

Far from terrible.

More issue I have with some inconsistencies in volume between tracks, which I expect will be remedied with the physical release.

The last 3 tracks were recorded live with some studio overdubs.

In case it helps, someone asked a similar Q on SDE and he indicated that it was limited but should last up until the release date. That's not verbatim, but the gist of his answer.
