🙏 Quick - need an easily obtainable Blu-ray movie (or popular artist concert) recommendation to show off my 5.1 system for a house party that won't bore anyone and gets down to surround business real quick like.

I’m not sure if it’s your kind of movie but Ready Player One has an early race scene with fantastic surround action. It frequently shows up on best demo scenes lists to show off surround systems.

I watched Kathryn Bigelow's 1991 POINT BREAK last night [Shout Factory/NativeUHD4K struck from the interpositive/HDR10/Dolby Vision/DTS~HD MA 5.1] executive produced by James Cameron [whom Bigelow was briefly married to] and was blown away [again] by how well it has held up. Pure adrenaline! Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves [coming off Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure] play off each other brilliantly. And the supporting cast which includes Gary Busey are likewise excellent. The bittersweet ending never fails to amaze. Man's quest to ride that perfect wave or end up literally confined to a prison of his own making. Powerful!

On my system, the sound of the surf was magnificent ...... thought I was drowning! And the video was likewise stunning.

I watched the 4k of Once Upon A Time In The West last night and thought it was wonderful.
I understand the review at The Digitalbits and why he called the film a B but damn, enjoy a film for a change.
The transfer and sound are very well done to the point of outstanding and not having watched this since probably 1978 on a 14" TV I can do nothing but recommend it.

Saving Private Ryan has metal pinging and explosions coming at you from every angle.
But it’s not a fun movie so maybe not for a party.

From thedigitalbits website:

The distributor Seven7 in France has just released director Jean-Jacques Annaud’s The Name of the Rose (1986) in a new Limited Prestige Edition 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray package that features a new 4K restoration of the film on both UHD and Blu-ray, a Blu-ray bonus disc with over 7 hours worth of extras, plus a 44-page book. A Bits reader with the disc in hand says the restoration is gorgeous. (Thanks for the heads up, Basti!) There’s no word yet on a US release from Warner (or one of its licensees), but the title will apparently be released in Germany on 8/8.
Thanks for that!! I've always loved this film, it's been hard to find recently.

Took advantage of some coupons, sales and luck and the following 4k are in the mail:
Blade Runner
Gorgo
Hellraiser: Tetralogy
Quigley Down Under
Sherlock Holmes
Wrath of Man

yeah yeah I know, Gorgo really? I am an unapologetic Kaiju fan.

I always felt streaming sites like Apple Music should have (by now) the Vangelis O.S.T. in Atmos for Blade Runner; but didn't find one so far with a search.

I'm confident, JP, that AF's Stereo SACD of Blade Runner should decode effectively through either the Surround Master or on my Meridian pre/pro's SUPER or MUSICLOGIC DSP modes.

Despair not, JP!

But no doubt, a discrete ATMOS remix would be most welcomed!

That Blade Runner SACD sounds great via DTS-X Neo or whatever it's called in the Marantz 7013.
