Looking forward to upgrading my Le Samourai next B&N Criterion sale.
Damn 4k El Mariachi trilogy in Aug and Janus showing a 4k Seven Samurai in NY and CA next month bodes well for a physical release in the near future.
Outstanding!
Look what's available for pre~order from AmazonUS:From the digitalbits website:

Love this movie. It was shot very near to where I went to high school, and in fact a classmate is seen briefly when they pull that gorgeous Porsche 928 up to an intersection; she's one of the girls they talk to.From CRITERION and director Paul Brickman RISKY BUSINESS [Native UHD4K from OCN/HDR10/Dolby Vision/DTS~HD MA 5.1]. Just bought the 4K of "Saving..." and attempting to play on my OPPO 203, can't seem to get past this:Well, I was at Best Buy today (first time in years) and I wilted over their cheap Blu-ray prices. Lots of their 4K discs on sale. I bought my first 4K title today.... Saving Private Ryan.....and it has Atmos, so I need to plug in my Oppo 203 and give that a try.
The dangers of relying on no-longer-supported players. There will likely be many 4K discs that don't play (correctly) in the 203 going forward.Just bought the 4K of "Saving..." and attempting to play on my OPPO 203, can't seem to get past this:
Upon inserting the disc, there is a five minute BLUE slide show in different languages talking about the concept of 4K. (VERY ANNOYING) when the actual film starts this is what I see. Tried turning on and off, reinserting, but it is the same. Other 4Ks play fine.

And sadly the field keeps shrinking. Reavon looks like it might be done, and at a minimum Magnetar is changing distribution. And both of those brands are/were very expensive for devices not quite on par with the 203 or 205.The dangers of relying on no-longer-supported players. That's a weird one and I've heard of other problems with one 4K release of SPR where there was a constant brightness level fluctuation. Very strange!Just bought the 4K of "Saving..." and attempting to play on my OPPO 203, can't seem to get past this:

That’s great, Ralphie! Now all you need is 19 hours!I just added the fantastic BBC Sherlock Holmes Collection to my arsenal at AmazonUS' blow out price of $32 [list $100] which includes THE ABOMINABLE BRIDE. Some episodes even boast Dolby ATMOS. 19 hours for 32 bucks ...IMO, not bad!
I don’t think it is the player. There are a lot of 4K disc’s out there with defects. I have had to return a few that would freeze up at certain points in the film. When I got a replacement it played fine. The only exception is the Queen in Montreal disc where it seems there was widespread defective copies on that one and the manufacturer needs to issue a replacement program. The dangers of relying on no-longer-supported players.
