Damn 4k El Mariachi trilogy in Aug and Janus showing a 4k Seven Samurai in NY and CA next month bodes well for a physical release in the near future.
Outstanding!
From the digitalbits website:

Arrow Video has announced their August slate, which includes a UK-only 4K Ultra HD release of Michael Lehmann’s Heathers (1988) on 8/5, followed by a slew of titles on 8/26. Among them are Robert Rodriguez’s Desperado (1995) in 4K Ultra HD and The Mexico Trilogy box set (both in the UK, US, and Canada), which includes El Mariachi (1992) and Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003) in Blu-ray, as well as the Desperado 4K.

A Fascinating review outlining how what is considered to be one of the greatest British films ever made almost slipped into oblivion!

Taking a break from 'Serious Cinema' [Seriously!], I watched Ron Underwood's [City Slickers] wonderful HEART AND SOULS with an uber talented cast including Robert Downey, Jr. in a raucous comedic role. I will say MILL CREEK ENTERTAINMENT which is not usually known for quality blu ray transfers did an incredible job with this Universal Films remaster which includes a robust discrete DTS~HD MA 5.1 soundtrack. FANTASTIC guilty pleasure and it comes highly recommended

Love this movie. It was shot very near to where I went to high school, and in fact a classmate is seen briefly when they pull that gorgeous Porsche 928 up to an intersection; she's one of the girls they talk to.

Well, I was at Best Buy today (first time in years) and I wilted over their cheap Blu-ray prices. Lots of their 4K discs on sale. I bought my first 4K title today.... Saving Private Ryan.....and it has Atmos, so I need to plug in my Oppo 203 and give that a try.
Just bought the 4K of "Saving..." and attempting to play on my OPPO 203, can't seem to get past this:
Upon inserting the disc, there is a five minute BLUE slide show in different languages talking about the concept of 4K. (VERY ANNOYING) when the actual film starts this is what I see. Tried turning on and off, reinserting, but it is the same. Other 4Ks play fine.

The dangers of relying on no-longer-supported players. There will likely be many 4K discs that don't play (correctly) in the 203 going forward.

And sadly the field keeps shrinking. Reavon looks like it might be done, and at a minimum Magnetar is changing distribution. And both of those brands are/were very expensive for devices not quite on par with the 203 or 205.

I suspect making $1k+ UHD players is not particularly sustainable in this market, and even the big boys (Sony, Panasonic, etc.) haven't updated their existing players or introduced new ones in years.

That's a weird one and I've heard of other problems with one 4K release of SPR where there was a constant brightness level fluctuation. Very strange!

I just added the fantastic BBC Sherlock Holmes Collection to my arsenal at AmazonUS' blow out price of $32 [list $100] which includes THE ABOMINABLE BRIDE. Some episodes even boast Dolby ATMOS. 19 hours for 32 bucks ...IMO, not bad!

I don’t think it is the player. There are a lot of 4K disc’s out there with defects. I have had to return a few that would freeze up at certain points in the film. When I got a replacement it played fine. The only exception is the Queen in Montreal disc where it seems there was widespread defective copies on that one and the manufacturer needs to issue a replacement program.
